Bournemouth 3-1 Fulham: Premier League result as Antoine Semenyo's two goals inspire dramatic Cherries fightback

The brilliant Antoine Semenyo scored twice as Bournemouth moved up to second in the Premier League with a pulsating comeback against Fulham.

Fulham were on course for a precious away victory when Ryan Sessegnon gave them the lead in the 70th minute, but two goals from Semenyo and a belter from the substitute Justin Kluivert turned things around.

A match played in vile weather conditions took a while to get going, with Bernd Leno’s smart save to deny Semenyo the most notable incident of the first half. It got better in the second, with decent chances at both ends before Fulham took the lead.

Sessegnon surged forward from left-back, onto a forensic return pass from the substitute Samuel Chukwueze, and lifted the ball calmly over Djordje Petrovic.

Bournemouth’s equaliser in the 78th minute was all down to the brilliance of Semenyo, who skipped past Timothy Castagne, stretched to keep the ball in play and beat Leno from a tight angle.

Five minutes later, Kluivert whipped a curling shot past Leno from 25 yards, and Semenyo sealed victory in the last minute of injury time with an emphatic finish on the break.

Bournemouth's next game is a trip to unbeaten Crystal Palace after the international break. Fulham, who can't catch a break at the moment, host title challengers Arsenal.

Bournemouth seal victory with a superb counter-attack. One moment Fulham had a corner; the next Semenyo was ramming home his second after an excellent run and square pass from the substitute Ben Gannon Doak. Brilliant stuff.

After a patient move from Fulham, Cairney arrows a shot just wide from the edge of the area. Petrovic didn't move.

Fulham haven't really threatened since going behind. Marco Silva is slumped in his chair, trying to work out what has happened.

Bournemouth have turned it around! The substitute Justin Kluivert has put them ahead with a belter. He received the ball on the half turn, moved to within 25 yards of goal and whipped a beautiful shot that curved past the diving Leno and into the net. Pick that out!

That goal has changed the mood as well as the scoreline, and right now it's Bournemouth who are pushing hardest for a winner. Scott's shot from 20 yards is well blocked.

Bournemouth's main man scores an outstanding solo goal. Semenyo beat Castagne on the left from a standing start, accelerated to keep the ball in play on the byline, then composed himself to slide a low shot past Leno from a very tight angle. Fabulous goal.

The Scottish pair of Ryan Christie and Ben Gannon Doak come on for Tyler Adams and Marcos Senesi.

Diop is booked for a tactical foul on the breaking Semenyo.

Chukwueze, who has made a difference from the bench, is fouled on the right wing. That allows Fulham to take time out of the game and bring the big men forward.

Nothing comes from the free-kick but Fulham are enjoying an excellent spell.

A goal at last! Sessegnon moves forward from left-back, pushes the ball infield to Chukwueze and keeps running. Chukwueze threads a perfect return pass and Sessegnon lifts the ball over Petrovic from close range. A terrific goal to enliven a previously dull game.

Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze come on for Harry Wilson and Josh King.

Those subs have had an instant impact, with Kluivert getting on the ball regularly and Bournemouth having an extended spell of pressure. But they still have nothing to show for it.
