Joe Cole says Liverpool are still favourites for league title despite Eberechi Eze's impactful move to Arsenal

Joe Cole believes Liverpool are still favourites to win the title this season, despite Eberechi Eze's reported move to Arsenal from Crystal Palace. The England international looks set to join The Gunners after several successful seasons at Selhurst Park. Arsenal have apparently pipped Tottenham to Eze's signature, and TNT Sports expert Cole has been impressed by how they have done business.

TNT Sports expert Joe Cole insists that Eberechi Eze can take Arsenal to the next level, but he still does not believe that The Gunners will beat Liverpool to the Premier League title this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window, bringing in impactful players like Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres.
Cole thinks Arsenal stand a much better chance of winning a trophy with Eze in their side, but he refused to say they were favourites to finish top of the table.
"I said they need to sign two or three top players," said Cole after being shown a clip of himself saying Arsenal would not win a trophy this season.
"I think he might be the missing link, he helps them. I still think it is tough for them to win a trophy but he certainly takes them to the next level.

"It’s close [to Arsenal winning the league], it brings Arsenal closer.
"I still think Liverpool win [the league], but I think it is close, I think Manchester City are closer. This will be the closest title race in years now."
The Gunners got their Premier League campaign off to a fine start last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
They reportedly beat bitter rivals Tottenham to Eze’s signature after the forward came close to moving to the white side of north London.
Cole was impressed by how Arsenal went about their business at a crucial stage in the transfer window.
"It is massive, I like the way that Arsenal have done business there," Cole added.
"I think they have stayed well out of the way, letting Tottenham keep the price down, and negotiate with Palace who we know have to sell.
"Then they have swept in at the last minute. I think he fits perfectly in their system.
"He is a great character, he is a top footballer and he is in the peak of his powers. We watched him last week at Chelsea and he was gliding across the pitch.
"Arsenal have stuttered in the transfer market, they haven’t bought a striker in three or four years, but they have acted fast and sharp on this.
"He improves their squad, it is a massive statement, and I think it shakes up the title race."
Cole’s fellow TNT Sports expert Ally McCoist was stunned to see reports that Spurs let the deal slip through their fingers.
"Absolutely, I can totally understand it [the anger of Tottenham fans]," he said.
"Not being privy to all the information makes it difficult to give a totally objective view.
"Spurs fans must be sitting there thinking, let’s get the deal done.
"I mean, there were rumours that Eze wanted to play in the European game for Palace and I get that.
"But if you are really serious about getting your business done, you just go in and make an offer."
