REPORT: CRYSTAL PALACE CONTINUE FINE FORM ON THE ROAD AS LEICESTER'S LOSING STREAK CONTINUES
Jean-Philippe Mateta and Marc Guehi were on target as Crystal Palace moved eight points clear of the drop zone with a 2-0 victory at relegation-threatened Leicester City.
Mateta finished off an incisive attack on 52 minutes when he collected Ismaila Sarr's pass, rounded the goalkeeper and rolled in the opener.
It capped a marked second-half improvement from the visitors after a sluggish first period in which Mateta and Foxes veteran Jamie Vardy both wasted chances.
Ruud van Nistelrooy made a triple change late in the match that saw the home team offer a greater threat and Boubakary Soumare was unfortunate to see a 20-yard shot crash back off the crossbar.
However, The Eagles made sure of the points when Guehi arrived at the far post to expertly guide home Eberechi Eze’s free kick 12 minutes from time.
The result means Palace equal the club’s record of six top-flight away matches without defeat and sees Oliver Glasner’s side rise to 14th spot.
Leicester remain 19th, two points adrift of safety, after extending their losing streak in the league to six games.

CRYSTAL PALACE'S GOALSCORERS CHAT PITCH-SIDE TO TNT SPORTS
Marc Guehi on Palace's hit-man Mateta: "He’s [Mateta] been fantastic. He trains first-class every day. We’ve got a really good squad and everyone pushes each other to be the best they can be. We are really happy.
On the set-piece goal that secured the 2-0 victory: "It wasn’t actually planned. It was off the cuff. He’s [Eze] got so much quality. We practice set pieces a lot, but that one was just instinctive."
Mateta: "We are very happy with a 2-0 win away from home, but we are already thinking about the West Ham game."

PALACE ARE ON THE UP; BUT IT'S WORRYING TIME FOR FOXES FANS
Leicester had hoped to kickstart their push for survival with the first of two home matches this week.
However, it did not go to plan as Vardy and co missed some big chances in a first-half they dominated, allowing a solid Eagles outfit to punish them courtesy of second-half goals from Mateta and Guehi.
The Foxes have now lost 10 of their past 13 Premier League with just one clean sheet in 21 matches. It is not the sort of form that suggests they can easily escape the drop, particularly as goals are proving hard to come by too.
As for Palace, they are now 10 points ahead of The Foxes and look like they are strong enough both in attack and in defence to avoid getting dragged back into a relegation scrap.
Next up, Leicester host Fulham on Saturday, while Palace visit West Ham.
