Bournemouth 1-2 Brentford - Bees set new club record after Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard inspire comeback victory

Brentford came from behind to beat Bournemouth to renew their hopes of European football – and set a new club record.

After taking only two points from their first nine away games in the Premier League, Brentford have now won five in a row – the first time they have done so in any division.

Bournemouth, whose hopes of landing UEFA Champions League football are starting to fade after a frustrating run of form, made a fast start and took a deserved lead in the 17th minute when Milos Kerkez’s cross was deflected into his own net by Vitaly Janelt.

Yoane Wissa equalised 13 minutes later with a towering header from Bryan Mbeumo’s corner, and both teams had a number of chances to take the lead.

Antoine Semenyo spurned Bournemouth’s best opportunity, heading against the crossbar shortly after half-time.

A terrific match that could have gone either way was settled when Kevin Schade’s long throw bounced through to Christian Norgaard, who cracked an emphatic finish past Kepa.

That's an excellent win for Brentford, their fifth on the spin away from home in the league - the first time they that's happened in the club's history. Bournemouth started well and deserved to lead through Vitaly Janelt, but Brentford were a constant threat after that and took the points thanks to goals from Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard.

A frustrated Huijsen fouls Wissa 30 yards from goal. Mbeumo hoofs the free-kick over the bar.

Semenyo runs onto a loose ball, 17 yards out, and throttles a shot that bounces a couple of times and is held to his left by Flekken.

Lewis-Potter's free-kick is met by Norgaard, who puts a difficult chance over the bar. Five minutes of added time.

The substitute Hill is booked for flattening the excellent Lewis-Potter.

Almost an instant dividend on that substitution for Andoni Iraola. Sinisterra, on the left, curls a beautiful cross that is met on the volley by Brooks, arriving late in the area. Either side and he would have scored but it was straight at Flekken.

A frustrated Semenyo leaves a bit on Schade. Not quite enough for a second yellow card, but his next foul will probably his last of the game.

Semenyo is penalised for a challenge on Lewis-Potter, which leads to a bit of a shouting match between the teams. Semenyo didn't even think it was a foul.

Evanilson goes over in the area after a slightly clumsy challenge by Collins. The whole crowd appeal for a penalty, only to realise the flag has gone up against Evanilson.

Brentford have come from behind to lead! Schade's long throw from the right was allowed to bounce, and from that moment Bournemouth were in trouble. Norgaard reacted smartly, gnetting in front of Zabarnyi to crack an excellent finish past Kepa.

Tavernier pulls back Wissa and is booked. File under 'taking one for the team'.

Bournemouth work the ball superbly on the left before a dummy from Kluivert allows the ball to reach Evanilson. He lays it back to Tavernier, who sweeps a good effort over the bar from 20 yards. Lovely move that.
