RICE SEALS ARSENAL'S UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPOT WITH STUNNING WINNER
Declan Rice thumped home a stunning second-half winner as Arsenal secured second spot in the Premier League table and a return to the UEFA Champions League for a third straight season.
After Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made several key stops in the first half, Mikel Arteta's men upped the pace after half-time with Rice slamming a thumping drive from 22 yards on 55 minutes beyond the helpless Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope as he dived to his right.
It means Arsenal's trip to Southampton on the final day is effectively a dead rubber with The Gunners five points clear of Newcastle, Chelsea and Aston Villa in the top-five chase.
Eddie Howe's Newcastle were chasing a historic fourth win over Arsenal this season, but must now defeat Everton at St James' Park next week to join the London side in the Champions League next term.

RICE AND ODEGAARD REACT TO KEY ARSENAL VICTORY
Declan Rice on Sky Sports: "We went so hard in the UEFA Champions League that our form dropped in the Premier League. Newcastle are such an in-form side and we have lost three times. The manager's message was clear: make it personal."
Captain Martin Odegaard addressing the crowd at the Emirates: "We can be very proud of what we've done. We had a great run in the Champions League, and had a great experience there.
"We just have to take the all the experiences with us into next season and make sure we come back better.
"Those [Real Madrid wins in the quarter-finals] are the nights we live for, the stadium was on fire and a great game. Hopefully, we can have many more moments like that next season.
"We want to say thank you for the support, we feel the love here. We have to take all the good and bad experiences from next season, feel the pain of not winning and take it into next season."

HEADING FOR FIVE ADDED MINUTES..
And we have already done one of them. Looks like Jorginho is coming on too for Arsenal to waste some time.

ARTETA WILL SERVE HIS SUSPENSION IN SOUTHAMPTON
A seat in the stands for a one-match ban will mean little to Arteta next Sunday with a UEFA Champions League spot on the verge of being secured right here, right now.

WILLOCK TRYING TO OPEN HIS BOX OF TRICKS
Doing well to twist and turn inside the home box, but can't find the intended direction and ends up flashing the finish well wide of the target.

ARTETA PICKS UP A YELLOW ON THE TOUCHLINE
He kicks the ball back into play when it was waiting for a Newcastle throw-in. Referee Simon Hooper unhappy and brandishes the yellow card. Which will mean a touchline ban.

ALL ABOUT GAME MANAGEMENT FOR ARSENAL
They've done the hard part in this match by getting their noses in front. Burn throws a ball at the grounded Havertz. Which doesn't please the locals.

NEWCASTLE EARN A FREE-KICK FROM SHOOTING RANGE
25 yards out maybe. Havertz with the late challenge on Tonali. What can the visitors unearth from this chance? And the answer is nothing as Schar fires the effort against the wall.

A CHANGE FOR BOTH SIDES
Off goes Saka for the Gunners to be replaced by Kai Havertz as Joe Willock takes over from Barnes for the visitors.

NEWCASTLE ENJOYING A (SLIGHTLY) MORE PRODUCTIVE PERIOD
Arsenal dropping off to play on the counter. Tonali with a corner to the near post, but far too simple for Trossard to head away under little or no pressure. Barnes then clubs a finish miles over leaning back.

EDDIE HOWE PONDERING HIS OPTIONS OUT THERE
Isak has been a big miss. That much is obvious. But could well be dipping back into his bench as we speak. 1-0 still not a winning hand in any match.

ALMOST ALL WHITE ON THE NIGHT FOR ARSENAL
