Tottenham Hotspur began their UEFA Europa League final preparations in disappointing fashion, as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Palace had two goals ruled out by VAR in the first half, but Eberechi Eze found the net twice in quick succession - once on the stroke of half-time and then again three minutes into the second period - as Palace sealed a comfortable victory.
Tottenham failed to respond, which saw them fall to their 20th defeat in the Premier League this season under Ange Postecoglou and sit in 17th place with two to play - only above the three already-relegated sides.
Spurs reached the Europa League final on Thursday after a convincing showing against Bodo/Glimt across two semi-final legs.
But their league run will fill them with no confidence heading to the final in Bilbao on May 21 - live on TNT Sports and discovery+ - after losing four times and drawing once in their last five games.
They will play Manchester United in an all-English contest, and The Red Devils are in similarly bad form after losing to West Ham United on Sunday, leaving them one place above Spurs with one point more (39).

Wood on target as Forest slip up again

Nottingham Forest slipped up in their chase of UEFA Champions League football after they drew at home with Leicester City.
After falling behind to Conor Coady's close-range header - the defender's first Premier League goal in two-and-a-half years - Forest hit back either side of the break to take the lead.
Morgan Gibbs-White found the net with a rare header, before Chris Wood struck his 20th goal of the season.
The forward sent Forest fans into raptures on 56 minutes, after he latched onto Gibbs-White's fantastic cross from the right before steering a header beyond Jakub Stolarczyk.
However, The Foxes - already relegated and with little to play for - found a reply when Facundo Buonanotte wriggled into the box before poking the ball home with a little under 10 minutes to play.
Leicester held on for a point, which came as a huge blow for Forest, who failed to capitalise on Chelsea's defeat to Newcastle earlier on Sunday.
