Wayne Rooney to join TNT Sports' coverage of Manchester United v Everton in the Premier League

Ex-England striker Wayne Rooney will join Rio Ferdinand and Joleon Lescott as part of TNT Sports' live coverage of Manchester United v Everton in the Premier League this Saturday, March 9. Rooney will offer his analysis and insight as United look to return to winning ways following their 3-1 derby defeat to Manchester City. Everton, meanwhile, are five points above the relegation zone.

Wayne Rooney will be joining TNT Sports’ coverage of Everton’s trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United on Saturday, March 9.

The former England captain will join ex-Manchester United team-mate Rio Ferdinand as well as Joleon Lescott pitchside, offering insights and analysis into the two Premier League clubs he played for with distinction during his storied 19-year playing career.

The build-up to Manchester United vs Everton on TNT Sports 1 starts with Early Kick-Off from 11:00 UK time fronted by Jules Breach, before handing over to Lynsey Hipgrave from 11:30.
The match kicks off at 12:30 with Darren Fletcher lead-commentator and Lucy Ward on co-commentary duty.
The clash will also be available to stream via discovery+.
Rooney started his professional career at boyhood club Everton before leaving to join Manchester United in 2004.
He spent 13 years with United, becoming the club's all-time top scorer, winning five Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League.
He then returned to Everton for one season before heading to the MLS with D.C. United.
Rooney recently expressed his desire to manage Manchester United or Everton in the future.
"Managing Manchester United or Everton is the aim, these big jobs are where you want to get to," said Rooney, who most recently managed Birmingham City.
"But it's a process. I have got to go through the steps and get myself back on track."
United will be looking to return to winning ways after losing to Manchester City 3-1 in the Manchester derby.
Erik ten Hag's side are sixth in the Premier League table, 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
Sean Dyche’s side were most recently beaten 3-1 by West Ham.
