David Moyes has taken West Ham into sixth spot in the Premier League so far, and last year won the Europa Conference League for a remarkable achievment. However doubts persist amongst fans and his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and speaking on TNT Sports, former West Ham defender Rio Ferdinand questioned whether West Ham fans appreciated their manager enough.

'You have to be realistic' - Ferdinand defends under-fire West Ham manager Moyes

Rio Ferdinand has hit out at critics of West Ham United manager David Moyes given his achievements with the club.
Moyes won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season and has guided the club into sixth place, ahead of their match on Sunday with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
He has done that despite losing Declan Rice in the summer to Arsenal, but there remains criticism from some supporters of the club, and his contract is up at the end of the season.
Discussing the situation, former West Ham defender Ferdinand looked into the TNT camera and implored them to appreciate Moyes’ efforts so far.
He said: “I mean, I can’t believe it. I need to speak to the West Ham fans, what I’d like to know is what are you really expecting?
“What are you asking for from David Moyes? I’ve seen disgruntled people with David Moyes, asking should he be changed.
“When you look at it, he won a European competition last year, they’ve spent £100 million from Declan Rice exquisitely well, fantastically well. They’re all playing in the team and doing well, and they’re sixth in the league.
“You have to be realistic sometimes and I just think it’s disrespectful to be asking about David Moyes because I think he’s done a fabulous job here, and I think you can’t ask to have it all, and you have to be understanding of where West Ham are as a football club.
“The position they’re in right now, I think he’s doing a fabulous job and I think to be questioning, it’s ridiculous. Considering where they’ve been at times, they’ve been in the Championship, they’ve been languishing some times in the Premier League, but they’re in a really healthy state at the moment.
“I think sometimes you’ve got to sit back and say, ’be careful what you wish for.’”
