DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN CLAIMS A VALUABLE THREE POINTS FOR EVERTON AS WEST HAM'S FLAIR PLAYERS DISAPPOINT AT HOME

A single moment of true quality from Dominic Calvert-Lewin helped Everton to all three points, as West Ham were wanting and left pointless at the London Stadium.
The away side showed spark and made the most of limited opportunities, while a lack of quality at the top of the pitch, and sloppiness in the middle and the back cost Moyes’ side a much-needed seasonal reset.
Despite beginning the game in lively fashion, the home side were unable to produce anything from their extended early spell of possession. The match soon settled into stasis, as Everton’s midfield and defence easily had the measure of the Hammers’ flair players.
The Hammers quickly ran out of ideas, and soon descended into sloppiness. They gave the ball away too often, too easily and too far from the Everton box.
In contrast Everton, despite having less of the ball, looked more comfortable when in possession. Dominic Calvert-Lewin found himself in good positions and was able to threaten the West Ham goal on a few occasions.
Neither team came close to breaking the deadlock before half-time, in a first 45 that didn’t give either side's fans much reason to get excited.
West Ham showed no more imagination in the second half than they did the first, while Everton looked increasingly comfortable.
It was they who broke the deadlock, six minutes into the half thanks to some brilliance from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The striker received a pass from Dwight McNeil, took out two defenders with a graceful turn, and tucking a pin-point shot into the corner past the desperate dive of Alphonse Areola.
West Ham could do no more after going behind than before. Their players grew increasingly frustrated and picked up several yellow cards, but no solid chances for the remaining minutes.
Sean Dyche can be happy with his player’s performance, Moyes will surely have something stern to say to him.
The result moves Everton up to 15th place in the Premier League.

FULL TIME
A massive result for Everton, who played well throughout, but West Ham were poor. Three defeats in a row from them, and with Arsenal next up.

ONE FINAL CHANCE FOR WEST HAM
Pickford is again the measure of it, and that should be that, you'd think.

SIX MINUTES STOPPAGE TIME TO PLAY
I think West Ham could play for another hour and still not score, to be truthful.

DECENT SHOT FROM SAID BENRAHMA
That was what West Ham needed. Benrahma, connects to a Lucas Paqueta cross with a solid effort and forces Jordan Pickford to be the equal to it with the gloves.

EVERTON QUITE HAPPY TO SLOW THINGS DOWN
No point overdoing it. They really just need to see this one out, now.

EDSON ALVAREZ CARDED

He went in hard on Onana during the most promising, assured spell of play from the home side we've seen this half. Shame.

CAN WEST HAM CONJURE SOMETHING IN THE FINAL MINUTES?
You'd think their forwards would have to be better, and Everton's excellent defensive performance notably deteriorate.

GREAT SAVE FROM JORDAN PICKFORD
At the closest of close ranges from Mohammed Kudus. Kudus was offside but Pickford wasn't to know.

BENRAHMA BOOKED FOR A TUG
On James Garner. After a promising entry into the game Benrahma has settled into the manner of play of his team-mates today.

CALVERT-LEWIN COMES CLOSE TO A SECOND
His high power shot rattles the underside of the bar. Except it's flagged for offside, so it wouldn't have counted anyway. Replay shows by how far and it was a lot.

WARD-PROWSE OFF FOR WEST HAM
The set piece specialist is replaced by defensive midfielder Tomas Soucek. That's not going to get the home fans' pulses racing. The Czech player is tall though, so maybe we can expect some high balls.

WEST HAM WITH A PROMISING COUNTER
Benrahma it is who leads a four on four advance. It doesn't result in a shot but a better spell of possession from them earns a corner.
