TNT SPORTS PUNDIT REACTION
Aaron McLean: I don’t think they’ll be too disappointed with the point. You look at the Manchester United game, and how well they did in that – this is a totally different opposition. They knew Brighton would keep the ball, which they did very well, and they had to nullify their threats. Unfortunately on the counter-attack they weren’t able to get into good goalscoring opportunities.
Glenn Murray: As far as Brentford are concerned, the disappointment will be the lack of performance from what we saw against Manchester United. But look at who they’re coming up against – they’ve got Sheffield United, Luton, Everton, Fulham. They’re the teams they need to be beating. The teams around them, those are the critical points. I think Thomas Frank will be quietly happy with that performance. Maybe a bit frustrated but they kept Brighton very quiet for long periods.
BEES HAVE NO STING AS SEAGULLS SQUANDER LATE CHANCES
Brentford and Brighton will both consider it an opportunity missed after playing out a 0-0 Premier League draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Brighton had the best chances late on in Wednesday’s low-key encounter – Danny Welbeck seeing a goalbound strike blocked by Kristoffer Ajer before the experienced attacker prodded wide in stoppage time.
Ivan Toney’s creativity failed to spark Brentford into life at the other end, while the Seagulls also had a penalty appeal turned down following a VAR check on the stroke of half-time.
The draw extends Brentford’s winless run to eight league matches, though Thomas Frank’s team did edge further away from the relegation zone, with Luton Town having gone down 2-0 at Arsenal.
Brighton, meanwhile, failed to capitalise on Newcastle United and West Ham drawing on Tuesday, and they remain in ninth place.
FULL TIME
It’s all over at 0-0 between Brentford and Brighton!
MISS
Another chance to win it for Brighton!
Welbeck breaks down the left and cuts into the box before looking to aim an outside-of-the boot shot towards the far corner. But, under pressure from Ajer, he can’t find the inside of the upright and another opportunity goes begging for the Seagulls.
THREE MINUTES
There will be three minutes added on here.
BRIGHTON PRESSURE
That’s a bad header from Welbeck! After a glut of Brighton pressure, Pedro saw a shot deflected out for a corner, which Welbeck meets with a free header, but the former Arsenal striker can’t turn it on target.
WHAT A BLOCK
Brilliant last-ditch defending from Ajer, who might have just saved a certain goal there! Welbeck was through in the box and, from a tight-ish angle, got a shot off that looked set to hit the target, but Ajer – Brentford’s hero against Man United on Saturday – lunged across to make a perfectly timed block.
MODER INTO THE MIX
Another Brighton change, with Moder on in place of Veltman, and Lamptey will move to right-back.

JENSEN OFF
Jensen’s 200th Brentford appearance comes to an end – he makes way for Onyeka.

HEART IN THE MOUTH
A bit of an iffy moment there for Dunk, who inadvertently flicks a long Brentford flow in the direction of his own goal. Fortunately for him, Verbruggen was on hand to safely gather it in.
EXPECTED GOALS CHECK
Well, the xG tells its own story in this one so far – just the 0.5 for Brentford and 0.6 for Brighton. Will that change in the final stages?
BOOT CHANGE
Perhaps a change of boots will mark a change in fortune for Brentford and Toney, who has switched to a pair of black boots form a pair of yellow ones.

FINAL STAGES
We're approaching the last 10 minutes of normal time, with Igor having just tried his luck from range, though his shot was dragged well wide.
Will there be a twist in the tale, here?
AROUND THE GROUNDS
- Manchester City 2-1 Aston Villa
- Arsenal 2-0 Luton Town
WHAT A BALL
Sublime play from Toney, who drops deep and then flips a superb, lofted pass over the top of the visiting defence, for Mbeumo to get on the end of.
Nothing comes of it, but what a sensational pass.
BRIGHTON SUBS
Two subs as well for the visitors, with Welbeck and Lamptey come on to add some pace.

DOUBLE CHANGE
Two switches here for Brentford, as Mbeumo and Reguilon come on.

SLOPPY
A bit of frantic play at both ends. First, Toney’s wonderful backheel almost plays Collins – of all players – in, but the defender doesn’t have the ability to take it under his spell.
Brighton break through Encisco, but he dallies over unleashing the shot and his eventual effort trickles out of play.
