Exclusive: Crouch says Liverpool will beat Everton, clubs at 'different ends of spectrum'
Peter Crouch says he can’t see beyond a Liverpool win against Everton as the two clubs are at “different ends of the spectrum” and the “gap is very big".
Jurgen Klopp’s side have made an encouraging start to the Premier League season, but the early signs have pointed towards another difficult campaign ahead for the Toffees.
The derby clash at Anfield is one of the showcase events of the season, but former Liverpool striker Crouch is not expecting a competitive contest regardless of the rivalry.
“I've had the privilege to be able to play in those games and the atmosphere is always electric,” Crouch told TNT Sports.
“Being at Anfield, it's going to be a tough ask for Everton. I imagine Liverpool will come out on top.
“The gap between Liverpool and Everton is very big,” he added.
“Even the staunchest Everton fan would admit that. They are at different ends of the spectrum.
“Liverpool had a disappointing season last season and are getting back to their best. You can't see anything other than a Liverpool win.”

Can Everton give fans more reasons to 'smile'?
The Merseyside derby has not been a happy fixture for Everton in recent years.
Their win at Anfield in 2021 is the only time they have been able to celebrate beating their local rivals since 2010.
They do, though, go into the weekend's clash with spirits lifted after not only getting the three points against Bournemouth last time out, but scoring more than once at home in a league game for the first time in a year.
It was a result that gave plenty of cheer for manager Sean Dyche.
"I am very pleased for the players and I am not saying it was a 'complete' performance but certainly a very good one," said Dyche.
"A winning performance and the pleasing thing was the calmness of the players to take the game on again.
"Question marks start getting asked when you have so many chances and you don't score so I was pleased to stay calm and deliver another very good performance and of course get the goals to reward the fans for their support.
"It is not just about before the international break, it is about winning. The more you win, the more people smile."
