Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has made it clear The Reds cannot afford to sell Mohamed Salah. Salah, a reported target of the ambitious Saudi Pro League, is not on the market but Crouch believes that Liverpool will struggle to keep their star forward if he is determined to leave. Salah has scored 187 goals in 307 appearances for the Anfield club in a glittering period of their history.

Crouch thinks Liverpool would struggle without 'irreplaceable' Salah

Former Liverpool and England striker Peter Crouch has made it clear that he believes the Anfield giants cannot afford to sell forward Mohamed Salah despite heavy interest from the ambitious Saudi Pro League.
Salah, who has scored 187 goals for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017, is reportedly disgruntled and looking to move on.
For Crouch, speaking as a pundit on TNT's Premier League coverage of the game between Bournemouth and Tottenham on Saturday, laid out his perspective.
He said: "No he's the one player that is irreplaceable, I don't care what you say. I mean, if you sell him for £100 million, £200 million, you can't replace him. I think obviously they'll be trying tooth and nail to keep him."
Salah is currently under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2025 and The Athletic report that any offers for Salah will be immediately rejected, but Crouch believes that they may yet be forced to sell.
He said: "This Saudi thing doesn't seem to be going away. If he wants to choose that path, I think it'll be very difficult to keep him. "

'Salah not for sale' - Klopp shuts down Al-Ittihad move

beIN Sports report that Salah has already agreed a three-year deal worth a total of £191m, tax-free.
Saudi source Arriyadiyah report that the deal is inching towards completion, while manager Jurgen Klopp is reported to be quite upset at the prospect of losing his star forward with the season already underway.
The Saudi league has made an unprecedented series of raids on Europe's top leagues this summer, with Liverpool having already sold both captain Jordan Henderson and midfielder Fabinho to Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ittihad respectively.
Salah has been a vital player for Liverpool since signing in a €42m deal six years ago. He has played a vital part in one of the club's most successful periods, and finished as top scorer in each of the six campaigns he has taken part in.
Only four players have scored more goals for the club than Salah, who moved past former Reds captain Steven Gerrard with his 187th goal last weekend against Bournemouth.
