Brighton and Hove Albion were able to snatch a point against Burnley after goalkeeper Arijanet Muric failed to deal with a simple back pass. Josh Brownhill had given Burnley the lead, but Muric’s mistake meant the match finished 1-1 and The Clarets remained six points from safety. Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest and Wolves drew 2-2 and Brentford overcame Sheffield United 2-0.

Newcastle v Tottenham - Premier League highlights as Magpies thrash Spurs

A disastrous own goal from Arijanet Muric prevented Burnley from securing a victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at Turf Moor.
Josh Brownhill broke the deadlock for Burnley in the 74th minute after closing down a short back pass from Carlos Baleba. Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen’s attempted clearance only ricocheted off Brownhill and into the back of the net.
The hosts appeared set to earn three points in their campaign to escape the Premier League relegation zone, but Muric’s error gave Brighton an equaliser just five minutes later.
The goalkeeper was unable to stop a simple back pass from his team-mate Sander Berge, allowing the ball to roll under his heel and into the net. A mistake from Muric also gave Everton a 1-0 victory last week.
Burnley had the opportunity to close the gap on 18th-place Luton, who were thrashed 5-1 by Manchester City, but instead they remain six points from safety in 19th place.

Forest held by Wolves

Nottingham Forest were also unable to hang onto a victory that would have increased their buffer from the relegation zone to three points, as they were held 2-2 by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for Wolves as he made his first start since suffering a hamstring injury in February, rifling a shot into the top corner in the 40th minute after a brilliant run down the left flank.
Morgan Gibbs-White equalised for Forest on the stroke of half-time, before Danilo gave the hosts the lead with a low shot in the 57th minute.
But Cunha drew Wolves level with just over 20 minutes left on the clock, turning in a loose ball from a corner.
Nottingham Forest are in 17th place, while Wolves remain just outside the top half of the table.

Brentford blunt Blades

Brentford defeated Sheffield United 2-0 to quell their own fears of relegation.
The match at Gtech Community Stadium was goalless up until the 63rd minute, when Sheffield United’s Oliver Arblaster inadvertently turned a cross from Mikkel Damsgaard into his own net.
Frank Onyeka secured the victory in stoppage time to help Brentford move to 14th in the Premier League table.
Sheffield United remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the standings, with the defeat making a drop back down to the Championship even more likely.
