Eddie Howe has been dealt yet another injury blow, with goalkeeper Nick Pope set to be out of action for the next four months due to a shoulder problem. The shot-stopper came off injured in the 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday, and Howe will rely on Martin Dubravka to fill in between the sticks. The injury is also a blow to Pope's hopes of making England's Euro 2024 squad.

Nick Pope has been ruled out for four months due to a shoulder injury, leaving the Newcastle goalkeeper a doubt for Euro 2024.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe revealed that Pope requires surgery after dislocating his shoulder in the 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday.
"He's naturally down because we've got huge games coming up and he's got the Euros ahead of him," Howe said in his press conference prior to his side's Premier League trip to Everton on Thursday night.
"We're thinking of him because it's another strange injury for us. There's no doubt he needs an operation so he will be out for a period of time, we think around four months."
Pope has 10 England caps, making his last appearance in a 3-3 draw against Germany in a UEFA Nations League fixture back in September 2022.
The Magpies shot-stopper was also part of the Three Lions squad at the World Cup last year, but did not feature.

Howe remains upbeat that Pope could return in time to force himself back into contention for a place in next year’s squad, but says the priority must be on returning for Newcastle.
"We are at the stage of the season where there are so many huge games coming up," he added.
"He's got the Euros ahead of him as well, which he was determined to try to be involved in, and there is still a chance of that for him.
"But I think his main determination is to come back for us. You never know what situation we will be in at that stage of the season."

The 31-year-old was replaced by Martin Dubravka in the closing stages of that victory against Erik ten Hag’s side, and Howe has no reservations about the Slovakian stepping into the fray.
"We really believe in Martin. I have always had that high opinion of him,” he explained.
"Martin is a high-class goalkeeper, he is a brilliant shot-stopper himself. He is very good with his feet and his distribution, so there's no hesitation in bringing Martin into the team and I hope he does really well."
For now, the Magpies’ immediate priority is their impending trip to Goodison Park as they aim to secure a third consecutive Premier League victory.
Meanwhile, England are not back in action until March when Southgate’s side play two friendlies at home to Brazil and Belgium respectively.
