POOR!
Koulibaly plays a nice diagonal cross-field ball for James on the right byline, but the wing-back's eventual cross has far too much on it, and it goes out for a throw on the other flank.

CORNER TO CHELSEA
Sterling is one-on-one with Coufal near the goal-side touchline in the left channel. Coufal initially does well to take the front position to try and usher the ball out for a West Ham goal-kick, but the ball takes a small nick off the defender and Chelsea have a corner.
Gallagher whips in a good delivery from the left, but West Ham head it clear at the first attempt. West Ham have looked solid at defending set-pieces so far.

GOOD BLOCK!
Paqueta leads a rare West Ham break here, and looks for the give-and-go with Bowen down the left. However, the winger's cut-back into the area for the Brazilian is well intercepted by Koulibaly.
16'
INTERCEPTED!
Kovacic looks to send the ball over to Gallagher, but it is well intercepted by Soucek.
Minutes later, Reece James tries to attack down the right flank, but he is flagged for offside.

TUCHEL ANIMATED ON TOUCHLINE!
The Chelsea head coach is not happy with what he is seeing here. He is gesturing to his team not to keep playing the ball sideways but instead to try to play the ball forward through the lines.
West Ham, on the other hand, are very compact off the ball here.

CLEARED!
Good clearance from Zouma! Pulisic crosses the ball into the box from the left flank for Sterling in the middle, but Zouma is there to make an important clearance for West Ham!

CLEARED!
Chelsea work the ball well through the lines. Sterling tees up the overlapping Cucurella down the left flank, but the Spaniard's cross is blocked by Zouma.
The home side recycle it, and James attacks down the right, and tries to put in a cross, but Rice blocks it and Chelsea have a corner. The set-piece is poor from Cucurella, it doesn't beat the first man. Paqueta heads it away from danger at the near post.

CHELSEA KEEPING POSSESSION WELL
Chelsea have started the better here as they seem to be keeping the ball well. However, West Ham are standing firm in their shape.

We are almost ready for action at Stamford Bridge!
14:45
WEST HAM ON THE UP
After three consecutive defeats at the beginning of the campaign, West Ham have recovered recently, putting in two good performances against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur to collect four points from those two games.
With club-record signing Lucas Paqueta through the door, could West Ham continue their good recent run and get a result today?

CHELSEA LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK
After a poor start to the season by their standards, Chelsea will be looking to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat to Southampton in-mid week.
Seven points from a possible fifteen for Chelsea sees them sit in 10th place in the Premier League table, and for them, a win today at home will be imperative if they want to remain in the title race. A loss could potentially see them go 11 points behind Arsenal should the Gunners defeat Manchester United.
