MATCH REPORT
Now that we've had a moment to catch our breath, here's our in-depth report on the game.
FULL TIME - ASTON VILLA 0-4 TOTTENHAM
Mercifully for Villa, the final whistle blows. Having shown so much promise in the first half, the hosts failed to produce the same intensity after the break and Spurs finished them off ruthlessly.
YELLOW CARD FOR KANE
He's been on the receiving end of a fair few fouls but, this time, it's Kane who dishes out some punishment.

GOAL!
It's all over at Villa Park. Romero pings a long ball to Kane, who heads on to Son. He runs in behind and, with only Martinez to beat, finds the back of the net in style.

INGS GOES FOR THE SPECTACULAR
Having found a pocket of space outside the area, Ings looks to curl one. It drops just over the crossbar, but was close enough to make Lloris dive.
SON ALMOST GOES ONE-ON-ONE
... after a good ball from Kulusevski, but Emi Martinez rushes off his line to sweep up.
GOAL!
Well, well, well. For all Villa's dominance in the first half, they find themselves 2-0 down. Lloris thumps the ball upfield and Kane nods it down to Kulusevski, who evades Cash and Mings before rifling a shot into the far corner.

DECENT CHANCE
Spurs win a corner and Hojbjerg thrashes one on the volley which threatens to pinball through the box, but Konsa makes a decisive block.
SECOND HALF KICKS OFF
We're back underway at Villa Park.
HALF TIME - ASTON VILLA 0-1 TOTTENHAM
Spurs may be ahead, but they were second best for much of the first half. Villa have mustered up 14 shots, with seven on target, at the break, but have been thwarted by a combination of wayward finishing and excellent goalkeeping from Lloris.
GOALKEEPING EXTRAVAGANZA
Ramsey wins a foul to the left of the box after tangling with Kulusevski. Coutinho steps up and curls his free kick towards the near corner, but Lloris makes another spectacular save and Ings fails to score on the follow-up.
LLORIS SAVES AGAIN!
Villa get a dangerous ball into the box and Lucas Digne nods it on to the onrushing Cash. He leathers a shot on the volley, but Lloris produces an improvised save.
