City win a free-kick 25 yards out, and De Bruyne tries a knuckleball, but down the keeper's side, and Patricio punches clear.

Boly is casual clearing his lines, just about escaping when Sterling appears on the scene.

City knock it about; this time, it's Rodri dropping in between Stones and Ake.

On his Wolves debut, Marcal has hurt himself. He's replaced by Vinagre.

City seem to be scrolling between 343 and 433, Fernandinho dropping to make a third centre-back when he deems it necesary

I'm not certain Stones was ever properly good, but he was absolutely better than he's been.

Poor from Boly, who comes for the ball and misses it, allowing Sterling to dash in behind; he's waiting for Coady's challenge and shonuff it comes, but with enough control so that when it's clear that Sterling is running into touch, he pulls out. Sterling still goes down claming a penalty, but the ref appraises the situation perfectly.

OK, Wolves don't play in old gold anymore, but we have to say they do.

City are playing in cream because their usual blue clashes with Wolves' old gold.

Looking again at that City defence and dearie me - there's joy to be had for Wolves tonight. John Stones might rediscover himself, but until that happens, he's a liability, while Mendy looked great at Monaco but rarely since, and Walker has a mistake in him.
