It's all over at the Amex and Brighton get just their second home win of the season, but what a big one it could be in the relegation picture. The Seagulls move six points clear of the drop zone. Newcastle's winless run has been extended to six matches having not registered a single shot on target tonight. It's an easy Brighton win.

Brighton are still pushing forward for a fourth. Newcastle look happy just to wait for the final whistle to blow.
Newcastle have been so bad this evening and have still not registered a shot on target yet. Brighton, meanwhile, can take great confidence from this result. They have looked excellent going forward and their goals were all great ones.
SAVE! Welbeck surges into the Newcastle box and gets a shot away looking for the bottom corner, but Dubravka makes a good diving save to bat it away. SUB! Welbeck makes way for Zeqiri.

ANOTHER SUB! Trossard, who has played well today and scored a lovely goal just before half-time, comes off for Mac Allister. It's a positive change for Brighton who look keen to score a fourth.

SUB! Almiron comes off for Longstaff in what is a slightly uninspiring third and final substitution to say the least.

Newcastle are finally starting to make some inroads into the Brighton half but ultimately their performance has been nothing short of tepid so far. There does not seem to be a clear strategy when they do come forward. Fraser has a hopeful shot on goal from 25-yards out but Sanchez can easily get down and gather it. It looked to be heading wide anyway.
Brighton have another corner as they just keep coming forward. This one is played short. Lallana gets a cross in but Lascelles heads clear.
GOAL!! Maupay finds the back of the net for the first time in ten games! Surely it's game over now! Gross performs a lovely Cruyff turn on the right flank and crosses to Maupay who sidefoots it in off the volley into the bottom corner. That's his eighth Premier League goal of the season.

A Brighton corner is cleared by Newcastle. Almiron breaks down the left flank but the move comes to nothing.
Brighton have had five shots on target compared to Newcastle's zero so far. YELLOW! For Dummett who wipes out Gross with a very strong sliding challenge. That was signs of frustration more than anything.

SUB! Bruce has seen enough. Murphy is on for Willock who, unfortunately for the neutral, has done very little this evening.

Fulham and Newcastle meet on the final day at Craven Cottage. How big could that be! If this result remains the same Steve Bruce's men will be just two points off the drop zone ahead of the southwest London club.
Brighton are still dictating the tempo as Newcastle attempt to push more numbers forward.
How do Newcastle respond? Brighton have been dominant and now have a seemingly unassailable two goal lead. Steve Bruce surely needs to make some substitutions. They look bereft of ideas.
GOAL!! What a strike from Danny Welbeck!!! He picks the ball up on the left, cuts inside and curls the ball into the bottom right corner. It's like Trossard's goal but better! The former Arsenal man has Brighton in a commanding lead! It's his third goal for Brighton and his first since December 20 against Sheffield United.

OFF THE POST! Fraser cracks the woodwork! Almiron lays it off to him on the left and he unleashes a curled strike on goal first-time, but the Scotland international hits the outside of Sanchez's left post! That was so unlucky and easily Newcastle's best chance of the match.
We are back underway! Can Newcastle get back into this? A defeat for Steve Bruce's men tonight would significantly bolster Fulham's survival hopes.
