A win Villa deserved on the chances created but you feel for Sheffield United. The sending off completely changed the game and even after that they battled creditably.

A sign of what is to come perhaps. Watkins runs down the right wing and cuts back for Grealish whose effort is deflecte by Lundstram off the turf and over the bar.

Grealish finds Trezeguet at the back post but the Egyptian's volley bounces harmlessly wide.

Decent low ball across the box from Trezeguet but Watkins could not get on the end of it.

Osborn wins a free kick 15 yards from the Villa penalty area but Villa deal with the danger before Ampadu hits a volley well wide of the goal.
