Yedlin catches Bacuna and the Terriers are up in arms, demanding the referee take action. He does, although it's just a booking for Yedlin.

Yedlin is given plenty of time to pick a cross and aims for Rondon, but his cross instead ends up at the feet of Perez who calls Lossl into action but the Dane is up to thetask and beats away the low shot.

Hadergjonaj comes on for Puncheon as Huddersfield re-shuffle now they're down to 10. As if their task wasn't hard enough - and that's a sad way for Puncheon's 400th career start to end.

RED CARD! Smith vies for a 50-50 with Almiron and somewhat lunges into the tackle. He was off the ground and caught the Newcastle man and referee Kevin Friend rightly sends him on his way.

Rondon smashes a shot into the side-netting after Huddersfield get caught out trying to play out from the back. The visitors look far too easy to get at defensively at the minute.
17'
Dubravka does well to claim a cross under pressure, unlike at Wolves. two weeks ago.
13'
Almiron showed great pace to get away from the Town defence there.
12'
So close for Newcastle - twice! New boy Almiron is set through on goal after a lovely counter-attack and looks to have made the dream start as he dinks the ball over Lossl, but the ball comes back off the post and Rondon then fires the rebound against the same post.
8'
This time Newcastle cross from the right, through Ritchie, and it causes some concern for Huddersfield before Lossl is able to close down Perez and put the ball behind for a corner.
6'
Almiron get on the ball for the first time and finds room to cross from the left, only to see Lossl gather.
5'
The visitors have started well, passing the ball around nicely so far without really do anything with it.
2'
Puncheon gives Depoitre an early ball to chase but he can't beat the Newcastle defence to it.

Less than 10 minutes until kick-off now. Can Newcastle secure a league double over Town for the first time since the 1964/65 season?

Huddersfield still need one point to better Derby County’s worst points tally in Premier League history. They last won here on the second weekend of the 2016/17 season - their only win at Newcastle in the last 65 years.
14:40
Some quick maths. Newcastle kick off on 25 points, one clear of the relegation zone, and a win would - for the time being at least - move them to 14th. Huddersfield have just a lowly 11 points and are 14 from safety, so will stay rock-bottom whatever happens.
14:35
And the Magpies can take confidence from having won the reverse fixture 1-0 thanks to a Salomon Rondon goal.

The Magpies have a chance to win three Premier League home games in a row for the first time since April last year. Burnley and Everton are their next two opponents at St James' Park after today, so that's a real opportunity to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Results went both teams' way last night, with Cardiff City and Fulham both losing, but the early game hasn't followed suit.
