A comfortable win for Chelsea, whose season might just've been saved by the linesman at Cardiff. Suddenly, after looking a lock for sixth, they now sit third; West Ham stay 11th and have one point away from home in 2019.

GOAL! Chelsea 2-0 West Ham United (Hazard) This is only right and proper. Cresswell makes a decent interception to cut out Pedro's cross for Hazard, but the ball breaks to Barkley who immediately picks out yerman on the other side of the box, and his marker elsewhere. Hazard controls, then lashes the clincher into the far side-netting, capping an absolute belter of a display.

Another darting run for Hazard, who finds Pedro outside him; the eventuating cross is a good one but, on the slide, Giroud can't quite get there in time.

Hazard is Hinchliffe's man of the match, the game's top performer for shots taken, chances created, passes into the box and something. Alternatively, you might choose to consult the score.

Barkley gathers possession just outside the box, left-hand side, and slips a pass down the outside of Ogbonna for Giroud; his low shot cannons Kepa's undercarriage and goes behind for a corner which comes to nothing.

Off goes Hudson-Odoi and on comes Pedro, who generously encourages the crowd to give the young man a cheer.

The free-kick goes short and inside to Snodgrass, who quickly whips to the back post ... and Arnautovic is up! He gets good forehead on it too, but Emerson manages to get in the way, deflecting the ball behind and against the actual back of the net, so on the wrong side.

Clever first touch from Anderson to draw Azpilicueta in, then an even better one which nips the ball down the line; Azpilicueta dives in and is booked.

A goal down with 10 to play - West Ham would've taken this at half-time; they'd probably have taken it at kick-off. Can they force an equaliser?

Hazard drives at the centre of the West Ham defence and guides a perfectly weighted pass out to Hudson-Odoi, who doesn't have to break stride to caress a cross in front of Barkley; thundering in on the slide, he can't quite catch up with it.

Sarri makes a more popular change: Giroud replaces Higuain.

He drives into the wall, and Arnautovic heads away the resultant corner.

Hazard wins another free-kick, 25 yards out, left of centre ... and Luiz is definitely having this one....

On which point, the young players who've not had a go at Chelsea: how many of them have gone on to rip it up elsewhere? This isn't me saying I agree with Chelsea's policy - youth should be given a chance to fail - but a lack of talent will always be more of a problem than a lack of opportunity.

Sarri and other Chelsea managers have copped heat for how they've handled Loftus-Cheek, but though he may be better than other options they've had, he doesn't looks a top player to me. He's got ability, but as far as I can see, has loads to add if he's going to be better than a mid-ranking team.
