Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played last game for Manchester United, set for LA Galaxy
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played his last game for Manchester United and will join LA Galaxy this week.
ESPNFC broke the story that the striker, 36, is closing in on a move to the MLS club and will shortly leave Old Trafford. They report:
With less than four months remaining on his Old Trafford contract, sources have told ESPN FC that United manager Jose Mourinho has allowed Ibrahimovic to leave now in order to sign for an MLS club.
Ibrahimovic was given a new contract in August despite suffering from a knee injury sustained at the end of last season.
He returned to action in November but managed only one more goal in six appearances – scoring in the 201 League Cup defeat to Bristol City – before making what will be his final appearance on Boxing Day against Burnley in the Premier League.
Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in his first season in English football, helping United to the Europa League and League Cup.
