Tottenham travel to Italy on Tuesday night to face AC Milan in a Champions League last 16 clash at the San Siro. It will be a tough test for Antonio Conte’s side, who are down to the bare bones in midfield following a string of long-term injuries. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris joins central midfielders Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma on the sidelines, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is suspended.

'We've not been lucky' - Conte prepares his injury-hit side for Milan in Champions League

After a chaotic spell in the Premier League, Tottenham turn their attention to the Champions League and AC Milan.
The Lilywhites earned a monumental victory against Manchester City last week, before falling well short at Leicester on Saturday in a 4-1 loss.
AC Milan returned to winning ways with a win against Torino on Friday night, following four consecutive defeats during a seven game winless run in all competitions.
Antonio Conte will be without Rodrigo Bentancur for Tuesday night’s match, who has been ruled out for up to six months with an ACL injury, as well as Yves Bissouma, Hugo Lloris, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (suspended).
Christian Romero will return following a suspension and will likely replace Japhet Tanganga in a back three, joining Eric Dier and Ben Davies.
The first leg will come too soon for first-choice Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, with the club hoping he will be fit for the second leg following a lengthy calf injury.
Ismael Bennacer and Fikayo Tomori could both recover in time to feature on the starting line-up after injury problems of their own.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to the Milan bench on Friday for the first time since May 2022, but was an unused substitute.
Tottenham finished top of Group D ahead of second place Eintracht Frankfurt, while Milan were edged out of Group E’s top spot by Chelsea.
The return leg will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday 8 March.
