Newcastle are fuming.
They are convinced they have a penalty as Merino goes over in the box under challenge from Mawson.
Mike Jones gives nothing and he is correct as Merino went over far too easily.
Joselu has another header but this one is straight at Fabianski.

WHAT A SAVE THAT IS!
The first corner is cleared but it's sent back in by Ritchie and Joselu looks certain to score as he flicks it on but Fabianski throws himself at it to flick it behind, terrific stop.

They'll have another chance now as Fernandez puts the ball behind after Sanches loses possession thanks to a rash pass from Abraham.

Half an hour gone now and neither side has really created much, in fact you could probably argue that Newcastle have had the better chances despite not having much of the ball.

Swansea crowd wakes up as Bony goes to warm up and he gets a very warm reception.

We now have a clash as Merino nips the ball away from Sanches as the Swansea man goes to play a pass. Sanches still follows through and catches Merino. However Sanches comes off worse as he lands awkwardly, both okay to continue.

Ooo Newcastle chance.
A long ball is not cleared at all by Fernandez and Murphy has a chance on the volley. He gets too under it though and it's way over.

Carroll's kick is cleared at the front post, it might be time for him to get off those now.
Sanches tries to put it back in but it is also cleared easily.

Swansea have a chance now as Olsson is fouled near the corner flag by Manquillo.
Let's see if they can create anything.

Another lengthy spell of possession for Swansea ends with Naughton swinging the ball in towards Abraham at the back post but the youngster is penalised for a foul.

I feel that the problem for Swansea is a lack of a focal point.
Last season it was clearly either Sigurdsson or Llorente. Of course it's risky to have just one option but at the moment it feels as if they are just going through the motions in terms of keeping the ball .

The stats are telling us that Swansea have had 66% of the ball, which is hardly a surprise.
The fact they're struggling to do much with it will be a concern for Clement.

Game has started to slow a little with Newcastle pressuring Swansea a bit more and as such neither side is really holding onto the ball too well.

Another poor pass from Sanches, after a clever flick finds him and he tries to play it through to Abraham.
He's seeing a lot of the ball at the moment but he just looks a little anxious with his passing, only to be expected I guess.

Swansea's diamond is interesting, it forces Abraham and Ayew to go wide a lot and it does rely a lot on the full-backs getting up to support.
They are having a lot of the ball but there isn't a lot of penetration, at the moment.

We have our first yellow of the afternoon as Sanches cleverly flicks the ball over Hayden and gets taken out.
Ayew does well to get down the right and looks to square it into the box but it's easily cleared.

Swansea are being very patient as they start to camp outside the Newcastle box but they let all the pressure slip with a silly foul.

Sanches has the crowd purring as he shrugs off one challenge and then dances away from another.
However he completely wastes it with a sloppy pass, something he repeats a minute later.
Joselu works hard to create space for Hayden to have a shot but it's straight at Fabianski.

Carroll takes and it's high and wide.
Carroll seems to be the designated taker now Sigurdsson has gone to Everton but you suspect this season Sanches and Fer may have something to say about that.
