Hello and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE text commentary of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Swansea. A 3pm Saturday kick-off is a rare event for United these days, but it provides Jose Mourinho’s side with an opportunity to cut Man City’s lead at the top of the table to 13 points. As well as that, a victory would be a much-needed confidence boost ahead of the Manchester derby next weekend. Their visitors today have slowly crawled away from the drop zone and could move to the dizzy heights of 12th with the three points, if other results go their way. So it’s all set up to be an intriguing contest. Kick-off is 15:00.

And that's that, folks.
Manchester United reclaim second place with this comfortable 2-0 victory over Swansea.
Romelu Lukaku grabbed the opener - his 100th Premier League goal - and Alexis Sanchez doubled the advantage later in the first half.
The second half lacked intensity, but Jose Mourinho will be pleased with the three points.

CHANCE!
Pogba chips a ball to Lukaku at the back post. The Belgian appears to control with his hand, but play continues and he can only fire it straight at Fabianski who parries it behind.

De Gea makes another impressive save to deny Abraham - but it wouldn't have counted anyway as the Swansea forward was in an offside position.

Purposeful work from Ayew on the left channel as he wriggles past his marker, before cutting the ball back into the penalty area. United can only clear as far as Routledge who sees his effort from outside the box blocked.

Carvalhal's changes have had a positive effect, so Mourinho is hoping his substitutes can provide a similar impact...

Van Der Hoorn pulls away at the back post to meet the corner delivery, he tries to nod it back into the danger area but Young scrambles it clear.

And now the visitors register their first corner of the afternoon - can they test the United rearguard?

Swansea are enjoying their best spell of pressure just now. Carroll has been excellent in midfield since his introduction, he actually wants the ball and is trying his best to make things happen.

Much better from Swansea. Carvalhal's three-man attack are finally starting to ask some questions of this United defence.

SAVES!
It's taken an hour, but Swansea finally test De Gea! The Spaniard has been a spectator but he rises to the occasion when required.
First, Abraham is allowed to turn inside the box and fires a powerful effort at goal, which De Gea keeps out with a strong one-handed stop.
Swansea work the ball back to Abraham whose shot is turned around the post by the United No.1.
