Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary of Tottenham's Premier League visit to Huddersfield. This is Ryan Bailey (@ryanjaybailey) taking you through all the action from The John Smiths Stadium.

It's all over at The John Smiths Stadium. This was Huddersfield's toughest test of the season - and perhaps a wake-up call to the quality that awaits them this season. Tottenham, meanwhile, were resplendent, with Eriksen and Kane proving to be standout performers.

Schindler might be credited with an own goal for that one. Sissoko's finish certainly wasn't clinical.

GOAL: Alli breaks once again and he finds Son, who picks out Ben Davies who delivers a great ball to Sissoko. His shot deflects off Schindler on its way to the net.

Alli breaks on the right and tries to dribble his way past Whitehead, but the Huddersfield man wins it back.

Van La Parra wins a corner, which Thomas Ince takes. Dier heads it clear.

Van La Parra pushes forward and is brought down by Winks. He escapes punishment.

SUB: The Kane hat-trick will not happen today as he's replaced by Son. Just the five goals this week for the England striker, then.

Alli steals the ball during a Huddersfield attack and pushes forward. He finds Sissoko in the box, whose shot is blocked by Lossl.

Huddersfield certainly haven't played badly - and they are still winning the ball and enjoying possession. But they were simply no match for Tottenham in that breathtaking opening 30 minutes.

SUB: Trippier makes his exit for Kyle Walker-Peters.

SUB: Jonathan Hogg replaced by Dean Whitehead.

Alli dinks a high ball over the Huddersfield back line towards Kane, but Lossl collects.

Alli has been lively today, but...

SUB: Sissoko replaces Eriksen.

Huddersfield break from the corner, forcing Lloris to come out of his area to put the ball in the stands.

Eriksen swings in a corner, which falls to Dier. His shot deflects for another corner.

Based on today, Rob Green has to fancy his chances of getting a start for Huddersfield.

The proverbial foot has been taken off the gas, but Spurs still press on. Eriksen pressures his countryman Lossl into dropping the ball from a catch. It's his second near-calamity of the game.

Van La Parra gets two bites of the cherry to put in a cross from the left. Three Huddersfield players are available in the middle, but Spurs extinguish the opportunity.

Understandably, Harry Kane is the top trend on Twitter right now. The verdict: he is very good at football.
