Arsenal struggling to get Ozil on the ball at the moment, Watford doing a good job of cutting off that supply to him.

Sanchez fouled by Kaboul and he wins an early free kick in a promising position. In it comes from Cazorla and headed clear by Ighalo.

Not quite crisis time yet but a game Arsenal really need to win. They have collected one point from their opening two Premier League matches of 2016-17; their lowest tally at this stage since 2011-12 (also one point). The Gunners’ lowest points tally after three Premier League matches in a season is one point, also set in 2011-12. They finished that season in third place.

Étienne Capoue has scored in both of Watford’s Premier League games this season – no Watford player has scored in each of their opening three top-flight matches within a season.

Alexis Sanchez starts today for Arsenal. He has scored two and assisted one more in his two previous Premier League appearances against Watford.

On paper, this match should provide Arsenal with a good result to kick-start their season. Arsenal have won seven of their last eight matches against Watford in all competitions (L1). Indeed, Watford haven’t beaten Arsenal in league competition since a 1-0 win in April 1988, courtesy a goal from Rick Holden.

Walter Mazzarri: "Pereyra is an eclectic player, he can play in many different positions. He can play on the wing, as a striker and is a more offensive player. He can play in lots of different roles in the different formations: 3-5-2, 4-3-3. He is a runner with good dribbling abilities and in my opinion we needed him. He was the missing point in our squad. He has got different characteristics to other players."

Watford have lost all six of their games against Arsenal in the Premier League, although they did beat the Gunners last season in an FA Cup quarter final match (2-1).

Arsene Wenger: "They were very efficient last year with the two strikers up front together, Ighalo and Deeney. One of the keys for us will be to keep them quiet. I rate Deeney because he’s a player who has technical quality first of all, but he’s also a fighter. To find a player who combines these two things is not easy. He’s very strong in the challenges, the duels, and in the link play as well. I was impressed by him last year."
