Since then it's fair to say things haven't gone so well for Guardiola, and if you're after a little pre-match reading Migual Delaney takes at look at what's gone wrong here.

The last three matches between these two have all been won by Spurs, including their 2-0 victory earlier this season that ended a run that had seen Guardiola win his first six Premier League games.

Mauricio Pochettino: "I know Pep Guardiola very well, he's a great manager, one of the best. When you arrive at a new club you need to adapt your values to a new culture, and it's difficult, but I don't change my opinion of him. I am not someone who judges other people. The expectation was massive when Guardiola signed. People thought he would win the Premier League after 10 games. That's impossible. But I have no doubt that with time he will be a success."

SPURS TEAM - Wimmer is in for the injured Vertonghen in defence but it's all about Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, who could have a lot of room in the space behind lone striker Harry Kane.
(Also City have a truly awful defence of Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov and Clichy, so it could be a long afternoon for Claudio Bravo. In fairness it usually is.)
16:50
MAN CITY TEAM – As stated Jesus makes the bench, while on the pitch Yaya Toure is the only holding midfielder in a very attacking team. It’s a… brave approach from Guardiola.
