Valencia finds Lukaku inside the penalty area but the forward can't get the ball under control and Oxlade-Chamberlain is able to clear the danger.
10'
We've enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining and open 10 minutes.
8'
Valencia breaks through the Arsenal midfield, he's fouled but Mark Clattenburg plays the advantage, allowing the forward to continue... he slides through Lukaku who can only force the corner.
7'
OVER! Arsenal muster up the first chance of the game.
Monreal is picked out at the byline and his cut-back finds Ozil but, uncharacteristically, the forward scuppers his shot and it goes over the bar.
6'
Barkley does well to keep possession in a crowded midfield, forcing the ball wide to Coleman whose loose pass gifts Arsenal the ball back. Ozil tries to pick out a team mate with an ambitious through ball which Jagielka is equal to.
5'
Did you know... Arsenal haven't lost on a Tuesday in the Premier League since February 2006, winning 10 and drawing seven.
4'
Lukaku's first contribution is a positive one as he forces an early corner.
The set-piece is whipped in to the near post, picking out Williams, but the defender can't direct his header on target.
3'
First glimpse of the ball for the in-form Alexis who uses his pace to make some space for himself on the channel but his attempted pass to release Walcott in space is just too strong.
2'
'Get your tackles in early' is the instruction I always received as a young 'un and James McCarthy was clearly advised the same this evening as he clatters into the back of Xhaka in the first minute.

KICK-OFF! Mark Clattenburg signals the start of the first-half.

A number of Everton fans have let their feelings known to manager Ronald Koeman, jeering the team off on more than one occasion, but the Dutchman says he understands their frustrations.
"I understand (the fans booing), because they are frustrated," he said. "They are frustrated because it is really a bad run in the last 10 games. But we go on. We need belief, and the reaction of the fans is one I can understand. We need to change that reaction, and I hope we can give them a different feeling on Tuesday."

Having not won in the league since October, Everton are desperate to get back to winning ways. Their recent home record isn't bad however - they haven't been beaten at Goodison Park since March - and with Romelu Lukaku back in form and Arsenal struggling for cover at centre-back, the Toffees may well emerge victorious.
19.25
Speaking in a press conference prior to kick-off, Arsene Wenger said his team were approaching a "very important period" in the season.
He added: "There is no super favourite (for the title) at the moment. When you look at the league it is down to consistency. It is very open, very interesting."

Arsenal are unbeaten in 14 away matches, an incredible run which began in March when they were defeated by Barcelona. If the Gunners can record an away victory this evening, and inflict even more misery on Everton - who have only won once in their previous 10 games - then Arsene Wenger's side would return to the top of the Premier League.
19.15
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger makes only change from the side that defeated Stoke 3-1 on Saturday as Hector Bellerin, who played a pivotal role in that victory, returns to the defence. Elsewhere, Alexis Sanchez continues in the lone attacking role.
19.10
Enner Valencia starts his first league match since joining Everton as Ronald Koeman makes four changes from the side that lost to Watford at the weekend. Aaron Lennon and Ross Barkley are also included from the off. Gerard Deulofeu and Kevin Mirallas drop to the bench while Gareth Barry sits out altogether.
