Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary of Stoke City's Premier League clash with Sunderland. My name is Liam Twomey (@liam_twomey) and I'll be bringing you all the action from the Britannia Stadium this afternoon.

It's all over at the Britannia Stadium where, out of almost nothing, Sunderland have snatched a point from the jaws of defeat. Stoke City were the better team for much of the afternoon and deservedly took the lead through Marko Arnautovic, but Mark Hughes will rue the chances his team wasted on the counterattack in the final 20 minutes. Sam Allardyce never gave up hope, went for broke and was rewarded when Jermain Defoe won and scored a penalty in the final minute of injury time. It's a point that keeps Sunderland within touching distance of bitter rivals Newcastle and piles the pressure on Norwich City, and could yet have huge ramifications in this season's battle for survival. PENALTY! Cameron gets too tight to Defoe as a pass from M'Vila comes into the penalty are, the Sunderland striker goes down and Craig Pawson points to the spot...

CHANCE: A slick counterattacking move gives Stoke City a three versus two situation and after checking onto his left foot, Imbula curls just wide.

CHANCE: Larsson earns a quick booking for a high tackle on Crouch and after the resulting free kick is cleared, Whelan meets the dropping ball with a fierce volley that flies just wide of Mannone's post. Four minutes of additional time to be played.

Larsson elects to test Haugaard with a free kick from 30 yards, but his fierce shot is straight down the throat of the Stoke City goalkeeper.

Van Aanholt overhits a corner under no pressure and Allardyce shakes his head in disgust. Sunderland are running out of time.

Final change for Stoke City as the booked Charlie Adam is brought off and Marc Muniesa comes on.

Stoke City are camped in their own half now, happy to defend their lead as Sunderland desperately pour forward. Can they find a way through?

Imbula is booked for kicking the ball away after Stoke City concede a foul.

CHANCE: Defoe and Watmore combine neatly on the edge of the penalty area but the former Tottenham striker's shot is deflected through a mass of Stoke City bodies and drifts wide.

N'Doye is booked for a foul in the air on Pieters. Adam had earlier been shown a yellow card for catching Yedlin late.

Sunderland make their final change, with Seb Larsson coming on for Jan Kirchhoff.

CHANCE: Defoe remains Sunderland's biggest threat. The striker controls Kirchhoff's cross before flicking the ball over his own head to work a shooting chance, but can only loop a tame effort over the bar.

CHANCE: Another attacking wave from Stoke City results in Whelan letting fly from 25 yards. His shot is deflected dangerously but Mannone gets his body behind the shot to claim.

CHANCE: Stoke City so close to putting this game away. Shaqiri's hanging diagonal cross finds Walters at the back post, and the Republic of Ireland international's header down causes a penalty area scramble in which neither Crouch nor Adam can get a shot off.

Tenacious work from Walters and Bardsley helps Stoke City keep Sunderland pinned back in their own half, and the former Manchester United full-back eventually draws a foul from N'Doye in a dangerous crossing position.

Huge tackle from Kaboul to prevent Shaqiri racing onto Imbula's smart through ball and in on goal. Sunderland are leaving space behind as they push up in search of an equaliser.

N'Doye commits a silly foul 30 yards out and Adam goes for goal, but his curler is several yards high and wide of Mannone's goal.

Hopeful appeals for a penalty from Sunderland as Watmore goes down in the area under pressure from Pieters, but referee Craig Pawson takes no notice. Never looked likely.
