The hosts continue to look for an opener but they won't find it with deliveries like that - Noble can only find the opposition goalkeeper with his poor cross. Meanwhile, Defoe is replaced by Danny Graham.

Sunderland have men forward aplenty and suddenly look vulnerable as Sakho strides forward but a wonderful block from Larsson denies West Ham an attacking opportunity.

PENALTY APPEAL! A big shout for a penalty as the ball appears to strike Johnson on the arm! But the referee waves play on.

Collins - who else? - wins the header from the visitor's corner. We are STILL goalless with seven minutes of normal time to play.

Collins is in the right place, right time, once more to clear a dangerous low cross from van Aanholt. Sunderland win a corner.

TACKLE! Another counter attack from Sunderland puts Defoe in a dangerous position but a wonderful challenge from Collins dispossesses the forward.

WEST HAM SUB: Nolan is replaced by Nene.

Great defending from Sunderland deals with a wave of West Ham attacks - Advocaat's side have not looked pretty this evening but they are looking much, much better at the back than in recent weeks.

SAVE! van Aanholt forces Adrian into a good save from his effort from distance. The ball was going wide but the West Ham goalkeeper was taking any chances and was at full stretch to parry the ball away.

Johnson's first touch of the game looks to pick out Defoe but the ball runs on harmlessly and Adrian gathers.

SUNDERLAND SUB: Adam Johnson replaces Fletcher and receives a chorus of boos from the home fans.

But - again - Sunderland deal with the corner. The ball falls to Song who looks to pick out Sakho but the forward just can't get a connection on the ball.

West Ham win a corner which Noble will take...

Nolan sees his shot blocked and the ball then finds Jenkinson but his cross is poor and the ball goes out for a goal-kick.

Adrian rushes off his goal and shows real composure to deal with the Sunderland attack.
