Balotelli and Adrian are both booked. Adrian really didn't do anything but shout at Balotelli, and Balotelli didn't do much but come in late on the keeper.

Balotelli and Adrian are having a proper stramash, with Adrian standing over a prostrate Balotelli. Something is up.

Liverpool are offering nothing so far.

Cresswell has the time and chuztpah to take a swing from 25 yards, and his dipping shot is well saved by Mignolet.

Fulham are in even bigger trouble, mind.

West Ham repeatedly hoofing down the left wing, but now they switch play to the right.

A ludcrous hack on Borini from Reid, and he really should be booked. He looks initially like he'll get away with it, but the referee eventually does show him a yellow.

GOAL! West Ham 1-0 Liverpool. Reid scores. A free kick from the left is headed across the box to Reid by Tomkins, who bundles the ball in.

We're off in the first half, with lots of bubbles. Isn't that nice? What's that? You're being sick at the whole hokeyness of the concept?

Sam Allardyce: "From a selfish point of view, yes (when asked if he was pleased Luis Suarez had left England). From a Premier League overall view, no. Those players you want to keep in this country and play in this country. There has been a huge amount of talent brought by Liverpool on the back of that fee. It looks like they took a stand on the basis that it was time (to sell him) after the troubles he has had. He is sorely missed in terms of his talent but, obviously with him not playing against us, we are rather glad about that."

Brendan Rodgers: "(Philippe Coutinho) is a brilliant young player, a fantastic young player. I had planned to leave him out of the game against Aston Villa because he'd had a lot of travelling in the international week, and if we didn't have so many injuries he would have been given a rest on the side and then played in the Champions League game. We couldn't afford to do that. We had to play him, but it was great for him and his experience getting back into the Brazilian squad. I've got no qualms about him; he's a big, big talent. He has lit up the Premier League since he came to the club. He's going to have some games where he won't be at his best, but he always gives his best and that's all I ever ask of the players. The kid is a great boy who wants to do well. He's very conscious that I have absolutely no doubts about him."
