Really good cross from Sakho and terrific defending from Mertesacker to prevent Carroll from heading one back.

West Ham again enjoying the Lion’s share of possession this half with Arsenal seemingly content to hold their lead and hit them on the counter. They certainly have the pace in their ranks to do just that.

Great ball from Cazorla picks out Welbeck but the referee then gets in the way when he tries to find Coquelin.

Oxlade-Chamberlain again not picked up down the right and Tomkins gets in a vital block to prevent his cross again reaching Welbeck.

Two added minutes here as Downing drags his shot wide. That was a great chance to pull one back.

That will have taken the wind out of West Ham’s sails just before the break. Doesn’t tell the story of the first half.

GOAL Arsenal! It’s two goals in as many minutes as Oxlade-Chamberlain drives to the dead ball line and pings in his cross to Danny Welbeck, who can’t miss.

That was Arsenal’s first shot on target in the match. West Ham must feel hard done by, they’ve been the better side.

If James Tomkins wasn’t running alongside Cazorla, Reid could have been off the field for bringing down the last man. So a silver lining for West Ham, perhaps.
