Arsenal finally with some possession in Liverpool's half. And let me tell you, Liverpool looked panicky at the back despite numbers being behind the ball.

Corner from Gerrard on the right finds Sakho at the far post. He gets up and wins the header but pressure from Mertesacker sees the header go wide. Liverpool have had 87% possession in the last ten minutes.

Sanchez gets some space on the break and tries to swing it over to Welbeck advancing behind Skrtel but the defender does well to cut it out.

Gibbs forced to just smash the ball clear as he comes under pressure from Henderson in the left back position and Liverpool yet again get the ball back.

Arsenal just can't get the ball. Welbeck the latest to be dispossessed. They are going to need a touch of it if they want to win this game but Liverpool are harassing theball brilliantly so far.

Liverpool play out from the back brilliantly there. Jones to Sakho back to Skrtel and out to Henderson on the right. Under good pressure. Excellent play.

Oxlade-Chamberlain the latest Arsenal midfielder to be dispossessed in the middle. Liverpool break but Markovic's pass inside to Sterling bursting into the box is cut out by Mertesacker.

Yellow card for Flamini as he slides in from behind on Coutinho. He got a touch on the ball but only after scything the Brazilian down. The free kick is headered clear for a corner which Gerrard goes over to take. The ball swings out of play though from the set play.

Coutinho spreads it wide to Henderson but he comes inside and slows Liverpool's progress. Arsenal get men back though and find some shape.

One fan's opinion. And not far wrong as Gerrard is looking to find his range.

Sterling is running things here as every time he gets it he causes the Arsenal defence to fall into some kind of panic.

Liverpool dominating the ball now and Arsenal are struggling to get up to the pace of this game in midfield.

Jones takes a chance by letting the ball run across him as Giroud comes to close him down but he just manages to get it clear.

A poor start from Arsenal really. They can't keep hold of the ball and Liverpool's pressing in the middle of the park is superb.

Very sloppy passing from Arsenal. First Giroud is lucky to get the ball to Welbeck with a poor lay off on halfway and then Flamini's pass five yards right to Sanchez is so poor Henderson can pick it off with ease.

Scrappy start here. The ball is up in the air but Giroud is offisde as he brings it down.

Free kick on the edge of the area after Coutinho somehow finds acres of space in the middle. He turns and runs at Mertesacker who is lucky not to be booked for the trip. 21 yards out and Gerrard is over it, obviously. He tries to bend it top corner but it flies well wide.

Arsenal get through the early stages despite some hard running from Sterling through the middle. At this time last year they were like 4-0 down or something, right?
