And here's Everton chief Roberto Martinez: "In football you always have to try to use the transfer window to your advantage and see if there is anything that can help the team be prepared until the next window opens. We are always looking at that. In terms of the squad that we have, I’m delighted with what we achieved [this summer] and the continuity that we have got. That will allow us to carry on working on what we did last season. In terms of being desperate to bring someone in, the answer is no, we're not."

Here's Leicester boss Nigel Pearson: "We've done everything we can to prepare the players like we would for any season. Clearly being in the Premier League is something the club has been trying to achieve for a decade - that's a long time but we don't have a divine right to be there. The players are as ready as they can be. We have to recognise there is an unknown quantity as to how we will fare. I don't know how other people perceive us. It can be a positive or negative - it's about trying to establish us back in the top flight, which is a very difficult task for anyone."

One man who will have to wait for his debut is Everton's Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic. He showed some exquisite touches in pre-season but has to settle for a place on the bench today.

Both teams sport a big money striker - Leonardo Ulloa starts for Leicester following his £8m move from Brighton. Meanwhile Everton have Romelu Lukaku, a £28m arrival from Chelsea - the Belgian was excellent on loan at Goodison Park last season.
