Poor tackle from the Spaniard and he's been given a yellow card for it. No foul given so has that been given in restropsect? Interesting. Sterling in a lot of pain. It's a really bad tackle.

Raheem Sterling is on the floor already. Heavy challenge from Cesc Fabregas.

Liverpool are expected to give Chelsea a guard of honour today when they come onto the pitch. Rodgers had this to say: "It is the protocol and what you do. They deserve to be champions. It's not something the players would like to do but we are a team and a club that has class and dignity, so we will do it and go straight into the game. Hopefully there will be a spur. That is natural.”

Jose Mourinho had some kind words to say about Steven Gerrard this week, the player he tried to sign on three separate occasions, who he will be facing for the last time today: this is my time to honour a champion. "It is my time to honour Steve Gerrard. It is with opponents like him that I am the manager that I am, because I learn with my players and I learn with my best opponents. Steven Gerrard is for sure one of my favourite enemies - an enemy with all the good feeling I can express with that word in football. "For sure, in England he is my dear enemy. For sure, he is the one that made me a better manager. To stop him or try and stop him has been very, very difficult."

Jose Mourinho has won eight and lost just one of 10 Premier League matches against Liverpool. That single defeat? Seven years ago.

A Premier League debut for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek alongside Jon Obi Mikel. Steven Gerrard starts after his late winner against QPR last week while Rickie Lambert keeps his place up front. There's also a place for 18 year old Jerome Sinclair on the Reds' bench.
