Bolasie's pull-back finds Ledley, but the ball rolls off the defender into Adrian's arms.

The match kicks off. Pulis is chewing gum with his mouth and holding chewing gum in his left hand. Is that tactically better than holding it in his right?

With five minutes to go, you can have my nailed on, certain prediction. West Ham will win 1-0, and the goal will come at 26 minutes and 15 seconds.

Here we are now. Where are the entertainers? Both these sides are fairly grim to watch, but at least there are a couple of enjoyable players who their managers haven't got rid of yet. Jason Puncheon is in excellent form, and Yannick Bolasie has an enjoyable verve. For West Ham there's Mohamed Diame and... er... that's it. Joe Cole's on the bench, as you would expect.

Sam Allardyce on Tony Pulis: "I think that it says a lot for the experienced British manager. It tells you that while a lot of foreign coaches have been selected by other clubs, there's enough quality and experience on your doorstep to do the job in this very difficult league. I think that he has proven beyond any question of a doubt his qualities as a manager. Contrary to what anyone says, his team does not play like his Stoke team did."

Tony Pulis on keeping Palace in the Premier League: "Sometimes you tend to forget what you achieve. Look what I did with Stoke taking them from the Championship and into the Premier League. All that over seven or eight years is a lot to beat. I've only been here for seven months! To put this on my CV is great. One day I'll look back and say I've enjoyed it."

Before the game kicks off today, there will be a minute's applause for West Ham striker Dylan Tombides, who died this week.
