No fluidity from either side. United are very brittle and this can be quickly exploited. Fellaini goes in with his studs on Yacob's thigh, after getting the ball, and concedes the foul.

West Brom curl a corner in to Olsson, who heads back across to Yacob, but he heads just over. A good chance, but De Gea had it covered.

Rooney who dinds Mata, who shifts it left to Januzaj, whose shot is skied clear.

GOAL! West Brom 0-1 Manchester United. Phil Jones scores a goal in the right end! Van Persie strikes a firm, curling cross, and Jones powers a header past Foster, who had no chance.

Rafael channels the ability of Maradona to tease Brunt, and is tripped just on the corner of the box. Free kick for United - Van Persie and Mata size it up.

Januzaj crosses to Rafael, whose volley bounces across the box and is easily cleared. It's like Rooney doesn't exist. Or Fellaini. They have a risible amount of mobility.

Januzaj tries to break forward but he's tackled on the left wing. United play the ball back to De Gea to hump forward. Fellaini is painfully slow to make challenges.

Yacob is clipped on the heels by Van Persie. Perhaps a wee bit of revenge on Yacob for his dirtiness so far.

Januzaj curls in a great cross for Rafael at the back post, but Ben Foster saves from close range.

Rafael blocks Chris Brunt's effort.

Rooney is standing over the ball. It's closer to 35 yards out, and Mata elects to take it instead. He clips the ball forward, and United give away a foul as they contest the ball, possibly an offside.

Mulumbu finds Brunt with a nice pass forward, with the outside of his boot, but his shot is blocked and United come forward. Van Persie is tripped by Mulumbu 30 yards from goal.

Van Persie has four ahead of him, but not one of them is making a run - they're all totally static. He fires a ball in for Mata, but he's easily tackled.

Olsson finds Amalfitano on the right, he evades Evra and overhits his cross, out for a throw on the opposite wing.

De Gea claims a cross after Jones loses possession in defence. He's been very poor so far.

United take a short free kick and keep the ball. A stabbed pass forward from Rooney goes out for a goal kick, but Rooney thinks he should have had a corner, as it deflected off Yacob - but it then came back off the striker.

Mata takes a heavy touch, and Yacob comes in with a late challenge on him.

Manchester United have had 83% of the ball in the last five minutes. A wonderful stat.

Rafael stands up a cross, but Reid clears to Gera, who loses the ball. A lot of crosses, not a huge amount of guile. A familiar tale for United.

Mata takes from the left, and it's headed clear, but United have it back quickly. Rooney's cross is put behind by McAuley. Rooney takes this time, and Fellaini's header hits Brunt, and is cleared off the line by Mulumbu.
