With Liverpool and Manchester City fighting to the death elsewhere, Chelsea have more reasonable opposition as they try to remain in the title race in Garry Monk's Swansea City. While José Mourinho's men will be hot favourites, there's no margin for error now, and anything but a win could be fatal to their hopes of ending the season as champions.

And it's full-time. Chelsea are just two points behind Liverpool now, and with a game against the league leaders still to come. Today was a significant step - in truth, it was a horrible, very narrow victory, despite all the wasted chances. But it was a victory nonetheless, and what is they say about winning while playing poorly?

Five minutes of added time here. Chelsea are almost there, and almost get another. Yet again another massive chance is wasted as Eto'o first misses the ball after Salah plays him clean through on goal, but Vorm charges out and the striker rounds him, only to see his shot cleared off the line.

And there almost was one there! A deep cross gets fired into the Chelsea area for Bony in acres of space - the Ivorian can't connect, but his movement deceives Cech who has to palm away the ball before it nearly drifts in anyway! That was scary stuff for the visitors.

Hope for Swansea, Liverpool, and Manchester City: The last two times Chelsea have visited here, there has been a late equaliser to make it 1-1. On 3 November 2012, Pablo scored after 88 mins for Swansea, and on 31 January 2012 a Neil Taylor own goal after 93 minutes gave a draw to Chelsea.

Last throw of the dice from Garry Monk - it's Jonathan de Guzman on for Leon Britton.

Eto'o appearped to go down with an injury there, but he was simply winded after taking a clearance right to the guts. He's fine to continue, but time is running out for Swansea to get something here.

Another mistake from Williams lets Salah and Oscar in, but the pair dawdle on the ball to wait for Eto'o, who then thumps it straight into a defender. Chelsea are not home and dry yet.

Much better passing from Chelsea sees Salah get right to Vorm's near post, but there are two defenders in his way and his cutback goes out for a corner.

More than just Swansea, the urgency has gone out of the game as a whole. There is probably another chance for both sides in this, however. Chelsea have been pretty awful all game.

The home crowd have been deflated and the zip from Swansea's game has gone too. It's difficult to see them coming back here, but there is only one goal in it as it stands.

A change for Swansea - Dyer off, David N'Gog on. Can he do his former side, Liverpool, a favour?

Chelsea look for another, and Swansea have a decent opening on the counter when Shelvey's run forward is not tracked, but Bony's pass is too far ahead of him.

GOAL! Chelsea have their breakthrough! It is a bad, bad goal for Swansea to concede after they had done so well all game. Chelsea have a throw-in and suddenly Ba is charging at a lone defender in Williams. Some decent footwork and then a ferocious shot sees Vorm get a hand to it but it bounces over him and into the net. It's not pretty, but it is a huge goal at both ends of the table.

The longer this goes on, the more it looks like Willian is going to have to do this on his own.
    65'
More patient passing from Chelsea but they cannot find a way through. Bringing Oscar on made sense but the wee man has offered little so far. He's muscled off the ball by Shelvey in the area, and some half-hearted claims for a penalty result in just a corner, which comes to nothing.
    63'
Now Rangel has to head off the line as Ba gets the better of Vorm in the air, but the whistle goes for a foul by the Senegalese striker.
    62'
Willian sends in an excellent cross to the back post but the only person there is Rangel, who hacks it clear. Chelsea getting closer, but still not quite close enough.

And now Swansea almost score at the other end! Incredible. A superb run from Routledge sees him use Bony as a decoy to surge into the area, but his effort takes a nick off a Chelsea defender and goes out for a corner, which just drifts over everybody.

Another good pass from Willian, Chelsea's best player by a country mile, finds Salah down the left but his low cross is easily cleared.

How many chances do Chelsea need? A rare error from Williams sees the ball fall to Eto'o, largely unmarked and just ten yards out but he fires it wide of the post. Another massive, massive chance passes for the visitors without so much as a shot on target.
