Tiote smashes it into the wall and it goes out for a goal kick having come off a Newcastle man.

Tiote shapes to shoot again from outside the box but is upended by Mile Jedinak. Free kick in a dangerous position for Newcastle.

Bright start from Newcastle as Cheick Tiote aims to strike from distance. A bit too ambitious.

Off we go. Newcastle get us underway in their black and white stripes. Palace in their red and blue home strip.
15.00
Kick off slighly delayed by extended huddles from both sides.

Just 5 minutes until kick-off and the teams emerge from the tunnel! Not long to wait now...

How do you see this one going? Get in touch on Twitter (@paddyfletch) and let me know your thoughts. No one's allowed to say 0-0.

Where will Alan Pardew be watching the match? Banned for his heabutting moment of madness on Hull's David Meyler, the Newcastle boss watched last week's defeat to Fulham from a hotel room. He says he is unsure where he'll watch today's game - anyone know any decent matchday pubs on Tyneside?
14.40
You wonder where the motivation will come from today for Newcastle. They sit safely in 9th with little chance of moving up or down and little to play for. Palace, on the other hand, hover perilously above the relegation zone and are very much locked in the battle for survival.
14.35
It's difficult to overstate the importance to Newcastle of Loic Remy, their top scorer. Without him in the side, Newcastle's record reads W0 L5 D1, in which they have failed to register a single goal. Papiss Cisse badly needs to find his form again.
14.30
If you've joined me in the hope of goals goals goals, then I've got good news and bad news. Bad news first: Newcastle have failed to score in 8 of their last 11 league games, while Palace have scored just 6 in their 14 away matches this season. Add to that the fact that both sides are without their top scorers and it becomes pretty tough to imagine a 7-goal thriller. The good news? There wasn't any - I lied, sorry. The best I can do is say: 'you never know'.
14.25
This is Crystal Palace's second trip to the North East in eight days. I was covering their 0-0 draw with Sunderland last week and can only pray, for all our sakes, that today is not a repeat of that. It has to be the worst match I've watched this season. Expect Palace to be in similar goalless draw-sniffing mood today.
14.15
Palace are also without their top scorer, Marouane Chamakh, along with fellow striker Dwight Gayle. Glenn Murray led the line last week against Sunderland but is dropped today in favour of Cameron Jerome. The only other change sees Jason Puncheon come in for Tom Ince, who drops to the bench.
14.10
Injuries galore for Newcastle. They have to make do without first-choice full backs Davide Santon and Mathieu Debuchy, with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Paul Dummett coming into the side. Top scorer Loic Remy is still injured so Luuk de Jong and Papiss Cisse will lead the line. Hatem Ben Arfa is back in the squad but not in the starting eleven.
