Ivanovic sets Willian on his way as Chelsea break, he sends the ball left or Eto'o, and he curls the ball just wide of goal.

Wickham's cross is blocked by Ivanovic, and Sunderland have a corner.

Ivanovic goes in a little late on Alonso, treading on his toes. You can imagine the kind of reaction that Alonso has - it is not commensurate with the preceding foul.

Oscar wins a throw on the right, Ramires elects to pass to Salah, and the referee blows for half-time.

Ramires elbows Larsson in the face. The ref misses that too, proving his incompetence. Terry then sets Johnson through with a run on goal, but manages to tackle it before anything too bad happens.

A great ball over the top for Salah. He crosses for Willian who edges the ball against Mannone. The ball loops up for Ramires to head into an empty net, but Larsson barges straight into him. The ref gives nothing, despite Larsson committing an obvious foul that stopped Ramires from heading on target.

Ivanovic has a long range shot pushed away, and Salah follows up with a shot from a tight angle, but Mannone pushes it away. Moments later, Chelsea appeal for a handball in the box when Borini heads against Alonso's arm. Then Samuel Eto'o curls a weak shot straight at Mannone.

Chelsea are camped in Sunderland's half, but Sunderland are defending well enough and deep enough for it not to be a great danger.

Willian finds Ivanovic, who crosses towards Salah, but his header is weak.

Chelsea break forward and Johnson concedes an obvious handball to stop the play.

Chelsea are struggling to create anything. Old Chelsea would fancy their chances from set pieces, but that's less common (I could be totally wrong on this, really) these days.

Ramires finds Eto'o, who lays the ball off to Eto'o. Chelsea work the ball to the middle with Matic, and it's back to the left with Willian. He spots Ramires's run into the box, and the midfielder is tackled, winning a corner. Ivanovic heads into the ground, it bounces off Mannone onto the bar and back into the 'keeper's arms.

O'Shea, who had to stretch to cut out a ball forward from Ivanovic, is fouled by Oscar and Sunderland will clear with Mannone.

A long throw for Sunderland on the right wing. Wickham takes, and Ramires hooks it clear. He's caught by Wes Brown - an enjoyably dirty player - and wins a foul.

A disallowed goal from Terry. Willian's free kick was headed across by Matic, nudging Colback to the floor, and Terry volleys in at the near post. The referee had spotted the foul, though.

Azpilicueta is cought by a late challenge from Johnson, with his studs into his side. He's lucky not to be booked.

Oscar curls his shot over the wall, but it's too near to Mannone, and too slow.

Cattermole fouls Oscar on the edge of the box. Sunderland are getting testy that Chelsea didn't put the ball out for Sunderland - but it isn't for them to do that.

Wickham is struggling with a calf injury.
