The full-time whistle is blown as West Ham leave Villa Park with all three points. Elation for the Hammers but huge disappointment for Paul Lambert's men. Thanks for joining us today.
We'll have four minutes of added time at the end of this match,
Villa continue to knock on the door, but West Ham do not look like conceding now. The Hammers are sure to see out this game.
Borriello clashes with Bacuna, sending a stray forearm into the Dutchman's jaw. The referee brings the game to a halt, but acknowledges that there was no malice in the challenge.
West Ham should have their third. Nocerino bursts down the right and fires at Guzan from close range. The keeper makes the stop but palms it to Taylor, who can only find the feet of Baker with the follow-up.
BENTEKE AGAIN! It’s relentless pressure from the hosts, and Benteke must do better. Albrighton’s corner is whipped onto the edge of the six yard box and finds Benteke, but he heads wide.
SPECTACULAR EFFORT FROM BENTEKE! Albrighton’s corner finds the head of Clark who flicks the ball towards the far post. Collins has lost the Belgian striker, allowing him to acrobatically volley over from eight yards.
CLOSE! Villa almost half the deficit as Albrighton’s set-piece is whipped towards the far post. It takes a slight deflection off Tomkins and brushes the upright on the way out for a corner.
Demel concedes a needless foul on the edge of the West Ham penalty area. The defender simply nudged Benteke in the back, and the Hammers will have their work cut out here.
Albrighton has really changed things since his introduction. The winger has attacked McCartney at every opportunity and has tremendous success. This time he crosses to the far post, but there’s too much pace on the ball and Benteke can’t make the ground.
So, it looks like it’s going to be all Villa in these closing stages. Big Sam wants to see out this game and will do so with five defenders on the pitch.
West Ham also make their final change of the day as Winston Reid replaces Matt Jarvis. The visitors will now play with a back five.
CROSSBAR! Weimann does tremendously well, switching from the right flank to the left to cross from the byline. Benteke rises highest, beating Tomkins to the ball, but heads onto the top of the crossbar.
CROSSBAR! Weimann does tremendously well, switching from the right flank to the left to cross from the byline. Benteke rises highest, beating Tomkins to the ball, but heads onto the top of the crossbar.
Villa do make the change and it is Holt that is introduced. He replaces Weimann who hobbles off the pitch.
Grant Holt is warming up for Villa. That’s it, West Ham. You’re done for…
Villa have certainly picked up their performance following the two Nolan goals, but the visitors have been resilient and look good for the win.
There’ll be no hat-trick for Nolan who has picked up a nock. Antonio Nocerino is the man to replace the West Ham captain.
POST! What an effort from Albright who gathers the ball 30 yards from goal and takes a touch to set himself. The substitute rifles a wicked effort onto the far post which then deflects off the leg of the diving Adrian and out to safety.
The West Ham keeper is looking for his third consecutive clean sheet and, judging on Villa’s endeavour’s so far, he may just well do that.
