Rosicky seeing his shot deflect towards the visiting goal. Had some pace on that ball, but De Gea reacted quickest to dive to his left in catching the looping effort.

Vidic takes no chances as he empties a loose ball straight out of play. Arsenal continue here on the offensive.

Rooney finding himself tackled well by Laurent Koscielny, but Vidic can't get on the end of the corner. Both teams content to have a go it seems.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches against Arsenal, since a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium in May 2011. Aaron Ramsey scored the only goal of the game.

Free header for Giroud from the Ozil corner, but he nods wide of goal. Golden chance squandered. Arsenal could be on the board by now. Vidic suggesting he was pushed.

David Moyes (Manchester United) on the suggestion that Rio Ferdinand is set to retire: "I can only tell you what was written was a load of rubbish. Complete nonsense."

Arsene Wenger (Arsenal): "When a person has been at a club for such a long time, there is always a void created when he goes. I believe that Moyes, if given time, will do that perfectly. They continue the same style of play. We consider them as a strong side and a team that has quality. Their season is difficult to judge. Phil Jones misses out, but Marouanne Fellaini is on the bench for United. Jones sat out Sunday's draw with Fulham after picking up a calf injury, while Fellaini has recovered sufficienly from the groin problem he sustained last week. Jonny Evans (calf) is out while Adnan Januzaj is on the bench as he continues to wait for a first Premier League start for almost a month.

Arsenal have forward Yaya Sanogo available again following five months out with a back injury, but he is starts on the bench. Midfielder Mathieu Flamini serves the last of his three-match ban, while Aaron Ramsey (thigh) and deadline-day loan signing Kim Kallstrom (back) are not fit along with defender Thomas Vermaelen (calf). Abou Diaby and Theo Walcott are long-term absentees with their respective knee injuries.
