Thomas makes a nuisance of himself and fires a low ball across that Ledely King delfects clear. Great start to the game from the Baggies.

Mulumbu took his chance well to score his first goal of the season, but you have to question the marking there from the Tottenham defence.

GOAL!! WEST BROM 1-0 TOTTENHAM!! Gera does well to chase the ball down and tee up Reid for the cross. The delivery is an inviting one and Mulumbu beats Friedel with the header!
9'
Assou-Ekotto drops a long ball perfectly into Emmanuel Adebayor's run, but the Togo striker's touch deserts him.
8'
Steven Reid blocks Bale's cross for another corner. The Welshman's delivery is glanced away. Kyle Walker and Parker combine on the edge of the box, but Parker's pass into the mixer doesn't find a team-mate.
7'
Spurs take the corner, but the ball is cleared and soon it's back with Brad Friedel.

Sandro has a shot from range, and his low effort is spilled by Ben Foster! Luckily for him, it rolls out for a corner rather than into his own net.
5'
Chris Brunt trying to make something happen in midfield, but he is being closely monitored by Scott Parker. The ball comes to Zoltan Gera, who fires way over the bar.
4'
Youssouf Mulumbu rampages forward and slips a through ball into the path of Shane Long, but it's just too quick for the Ireland striker.
3'
Chris Brunt and Jerome Thomas both fire in crosses, the latter of which goes out for a goal kick.
2'
Benoit Assou-Ekotto takes an early throw-in. The usually corn-rowed defender has let his hair out today. That is quite an afro.

TEAM NEWS: For the Baggies, Shane Long returns to the starting XI after a leg injury, while Paul Scharner and Peter Odemwingie (both knee) have also recovered but are named on the bench. Marc-Antoine Fortune is unavailable after joining Doncaster on a short-term loan.
