Thanks for joining me today - if you have anything to say to me about the game, Sammon's sending off, Berbatov's hat-trick or Valencia's fine goal, please do on Twitter
There's the final whistle, United win handsomely - they cut the goal difference on City to 'just' five with that as - surprisingly - City have been held by West Brom. So both Manchester clubs are on 45 points.
Alcaraz blasts one high and wide from range. I don't like him, he's not very good.
Two minutes added time. Dowd really could have put Wigan out of their misery.
Gibson with one of his standard hammers from range but a smart low stop from Al-Habsi, who has actually played rather well.
Figueroa on a marauding run from the back but he blasts his shot well over in the end. Left Carrick for dead.
Decent low ball from Rooney but no-one attacks the near post and Wigan clear.
United have a free-kick on the left, which will be taken by Rooney.
... Valencia finally gets bored and goes for a spectacular long-range effort, which flies wide.
United playing keep ball as they look for an opening...
United still having a go as they look for more goals...
WIGAN SUB: Moses is replaced by Rodallega.
Macheda with a cross but Al-Habsi holds on.
Berbatov for the hat-trick... and he passes it noncholantly into the bottom right, leaving poor Al-Habsi on his knees in the process. 5-0, treble for Berbs.
Alcaraz finally gives away the penalty he has threatened all day, chopping down Park, although that could well have been outside. Not 100% sure.
Wigan half-cleared that corner but Carrick prodded it to Valencia, who just let rip with his right foot, low, savage, unstoppable and in. What a fine goal.
Valencia crosses and McCarthy knocks it behind for a third corner on the trot. BOOF! 4-0 and Valencia continues the theme of a marauding right-back by spanking a Carlos-Alberto style drive across the goal and in! What a strike!!
Macheda, who is playing on the left wing, hammers a high cross-shot that Al-Habsi has to tip over. That corner ultimately yields a second as, while cleared, Rooney's second ball hits visiting defender Caldwell and loops over.
A stray pass from Berbatov on the edge of the box, his first error today. M.O.M. for me.
