Lovely passing move involving Silva and Nasri ends with Silva cracking a deflected shot wide of the home goal. Ball just flicked off Samba.

Pedersen forced to knock the ball out of his own box early in the second half after a fine run and cross by Kolarov.

Hart punches out Pedersen's long throw-in that is again aimed for Samba. There goes the whistle for the break. 0-0 at half-time, despite City's best intentions.

City with seven shots at goal compared to two from Rovers. The visitors have been the more aggressive side, but Rovers holding firm at the moment.

Rovers go on the attack at the other end as Yakubu bounds onto a pass in the box. Hammers the shot at goal, but Hart makes a comfortable enough save.

So close to the opening goal from Balotelli. Lovely pass from Silva, but Balotelli sees a swerving shot fly inches wide of the target. Right idea. Robinson was struggling to get there.

Driven in by Kolarov with some pace. Ball was certainly travelling, but it falls wide of the home goal. Goalkick to Rovers.

Johnson is fouled by Hoilett. Chance for Kolarov to show off his dead ball skills around 35 yards away from goal out wide.

Pedersen guilty of poor, poor play in presenting that chance for Nasri to hit the shot, but City can't benefit as Mancini continues to look concerned.
