Lionel Messi is no stranger to breaking records.
The footballing legend has already cemented his place as the greatest player of all time, but he is not done yet.
The Argentina international has broken another record while representing Major League Soccer side Inter Miami.
The David Beckham-backed outfit may have only just got back to domestic action following their FIFA Club World Cup exploits, but their star player has not missed a beat since returning.
What record has he broken?
The 38-year-old forward became the only player in the history of the MLS to score more than one goal in four consecutive league games last Wednesday.
He achieved the feat after scoring twice in his side's 2-1 win over the New England Revolution.
After the match, Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano said that he is lucky to have his former international team-mate on his side.
"Obviously, Leo is a special player," Mascherano said. "For me, he is the best player that has played this sport in history.
"So it's unbelievable because how he continues doing things that maybe many, many years ago we thought that maybe we couldn't see at this stage, no?
"But in the end, he's a special player. We are lucky to have him."
Messi extends his record
Not content with breaking the record, Messi has already gone about extending it.
He has now scored more than one goal in five consecutive MLS fixtures after another delightful double in his side's 2-1 win against Nashville on Saturday.
The former Barcelona and PSG star got his run underway with braces against Montreal and Columbus in May.

Inter Miami then went to the FIFA Club World Cup, but upon their return he scored twice against Montreal and he's just kept going.
Inter Miami are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference of the MLS, five points behind leaders Philadelphia.
However, they do have three games in hand over their title rivals.
