Close! Ruiz-Atil, on his debut, cuts in from the left and with his right-foot unleashes a dangerous shot that looks destined for the corner of Leca's goal. It drifts just wide, though.

PSG win a free-kick which Herrera takes quickly, squeezing it through the defence, searching for Kalimuendo. Leca is alert to the danger, though and races off his line to smother the ball.

Lens hit the post! Oh, what a let off for PSG! Good hold up play initially from Ganago, he then knocks the ball into space, carves inside and creates the opening for a shot on the edge of the box. His curled effort smacks off the bottom of the post!

Nice build-up play from PSG as the ball falls to Kurzawa on the right. It falls to the wrong man, however, as he scuffs his shot well wide.

Tuchel has to win the Champions League this season to keep his job, you would imagine. The league is the bread and butter but it's Europe where the hierarchy want this team to shine.

A penny for Thomas Tuchel's thoughts. Three weeks ago he was preparing his side for the biggest game of their careers; tonight, his patched up PSG players are away to Lens in the first game of the season.

PSG are beginning to see a lot more of the ball now. Herrera drives into space through the middle but instead of opting for a shot he tries an eye-of-the-needle pass and it doesn't come off.

Verrati swings the cross into the packed Lens penalty area but the hosts stand firm and clear their lines.

PSG win a free-kick, on the right, in a perfect crossing position. A chance to test the home side's defence.

The hosts are asking all of the early questions and this time they threaten down the left. Banza is involved again, picking out Ganogo in the middle but his touch lets him down! Such a waste!
2'
Lens start immediately on the front foot, Banza exposing an opening in the PSG defence, but Bernat gets across to make a desperate last-ditch block.

Kick-off! Lens get the game underway in their traditional yellow and red. PSG, missing seven regulars, are in their white away strip.

A moment's silence is being held for the people who have lost their lives throughout the pandemic.

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear actual supporters in the stadium rather than the computer generated crowd sound. RC Lens are here and they're going to make noise.

Five minutes until kick-off now. It's RC Lens versus PSG, it's LIVE and it's NEXT!

Supporters, yes, actual human beings, will be in attendance at Stade Bollaert-Delelis for Lens' first home match of the season tonight. 5,000 of them.
19:40
Newly-promoted Lens suffered a 2-1 defeat at Nice in their opening fixture of the season, but they will never have a better opportunity to beat PSG. Head coach Franck Haise is playing down his side's chances, however. "I'm happy to be playing again and to be taking on the Champions League finalists, even if they won't have all their players," Haise said. "Do you want me to say we are favourites? No, we are not favourites. We are up against PSG, even if they won't be at full strength. There'll still be plenty of fine players at PSG and we know it will be very difficult in any case."

And tonight's hosts...
