Substitute Christian Kouakou scored a close-range overhead kick to finish the scoring at Stade Michel d'Ornano, as Caen continue their unlikely bid for Champions League qualification.
Monaco took the lead shortly before the hour-mark when Thomas Lemar scored a beautiful curling free-kick, but Caen hit back soon after as Julian Feret converted from the penalty spot following a handball in the box.
Bernardo Silva then seemed to have helped his side to steal a crucial three points as he waltzed into the opposition box before squaring a cross that was turned into his own net by defender Alaeddine Yahia - before Kouakou restoed parity for a final time.
The point edges Caen up into third, although five teams could yet overhaul them over the weekend's remaining fixtures.
Monaco now sit 22 points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain having played a game more, but they remain eight points ahead of their opponents.
