Isco has to do better! That was such a good position for the Real Madrid playmaker, he had Vinicius making the run on the inside, but his pass was lazy and the interception was made!
It's all got a bit scrappy in the last 15 to 20 minutes of this match. A lot of tackles, high feet and some yellow cards. Wouldn't be a surprise if there's a red card in this one!
While Real Madrid have been stronger in past seasons, this is still a high quality team. They showed that in the opening weekend win over Alaves when they silenced some doubters.
Real Madrid have injury troubles at the moment. Carvajal, Marcelo and Mendy have all been sidelined for the club, which has stretched the squad in the defensive areas of the pitch.
What will the second half hold? It's been an entertaining encounter between two highly competitive teams, but it could be said there has been a lack of attacking quality so far.
The second half is under way! It's still goalless between Real Betis and Real Madrid in this La Liga fixture!
HALF TIME: Real Betis 0-0 Real Madrid. It's been a very competitive first half at the Benito Villamarin, but we're still waiting for the first goal to be scored! Hopefully that will come!
And now Ruibal is booked for hacking down Vinicius. It's all got a bit scrappy here!
There will be two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.
One wonders if Ancelotti will make any changes at the break. Does he have anyone on the bench who can help Real Madrid take control of things in the centre of the pitch.
Real Betis deserve a lot of credit for how they have gone toe-to-toe with Real Madrid in this first half, and not just in their use of the ball, but on the physical side of things as well!
Canales is the latest player to be shown a yellow card for an elbow into the face of Miguel.
PICTURE: Isco has looked dangerous!
Juanmi takes the shot! It was fantastic vision from Canales to pick out Juanmi with a pass over the top, but his shot is saved by Courtois, although the Belgian could only parry!
Isco has some space 25 yards out, but he didn't control the ball quickly enough and that allowed Real Betis to get back and make the tackle on the Real Madrid playmaker.
This match has swung back and forth in terms of its momentum. Right now, it's Real Madrid who are seeing more of the ball, but they aren't doing all that much with it!
Canales is such a brilliant player. He has been a key figure for Real Betis for a number of years and it's always amazing to me that he wasn't given a chance at Real Madrid.
Isco has enjoyed something of a career renaissance in the early stage of this season. The playmaker has been given a second chance by Ancelotti and he’s made the most of it!
